Dune 3 is gonna be a galactic event, all of humanity is involved. This is the oppurtunity to EXPAND the lore. Ixians, Tleilaxu, Guild Navigators, all the weird shit that makes Dune so unique and interesting! That weirdness is a big part of the reason it's stood the test of time.

it's been very fun to watch everyone new to dune get into it now that the movies are popular, but i feel like i need to do some reverse gatekeeping, as a long time dune enjoyer: it's totally okay to not read the books. especially past the first one. one and done is ideal here

Why are you people acting like this? Out of 6 Dune books, Paul is the main character of 2 of them. He's only even in 3. The Kwisatz Haderach was an inevitable part of the Bene Gesserit program. The golden path was inevitable. Dune is about the long view of history, not 1 dude.

It would have made more sense if Daenerys had attacked the Red Keep and killed Cersei and all of the people inside which sets off a chain reaction of wildfire accidentally and burns down the city. Dany would still be in the wrong but it would have made sense.
