It's exhausting but there's no other choice because the alternative is a very painful and horrific deterioration of health and functioning. This changed my life by making me ultra disciplined, tough, and grateful for all the little things in life. I'm happy just feeling good.

And I forgot to mention the fact that we homeschool. This gives them time to read what they want. I made the case for the classics and they choose to include those because they trust me. I persuaded them. I managed to persuade them because I respect them (so they listened).

@eckiam So true! I never gave my kids bread until a certain age when they had fresh baked sourdough and then my son refused to have any other kind after that--he'd say it wasn't real. He has posh food tastes. Can taste the difference between moderately priced and cheap olive oil lol

@Empty_America True. That mental barrier can be removed with the will and some mental exercises plus regular knife handling (cooking).

The miniature schnauzer, if you must have a small, sporty, and amusing watch dog, is a good choice.
