Indeed. However, I know of no significant piece of legislation that once enacted, was temporary. I want to see a total separation of State and Education - regardless of its daunting challenges, I believe that a full privatization of education is an ultimate goal - this includes the abolishment of property taxes.

Yes, either codified or in the policy and regulation writing that happens after. Let’s not forget the additions and revisions that happen on next sessions. The hard and immutable law of “government funds, government rules” always applies. This is why I want to end all property taxes for everyone and remove the perpetual threat of seizure off our homes.

@tgkoetje @Dwaite498 The public schools abuse and neglect far more children - both in numbers and percentage. But what bothers me most is the mentality that private people must be constantly monitored by the government for some safety concern is really dystopic.

When we say “rights” the intrinsic assumption is that we can exercise control, autonomy, authority, responsibility, and sovereignty without the State since rights are not bestowed by the State. When we say “parental rights” we must assume the same and that our children are not a product of government altruism, but the fundamental principle that the institution of the Family is superior and independent of government authority.

@HeidiLeeS4 @Hollie_Plemons Are there other churches of your denomination in your area? They can be a source of a shared vision. I remember my time as an associate pastor that we had a constant conversation with other churches - some even not of our denomination.

The average price range of homeschooling is $800~$1200 per year, per child. ($4.00/day). Public schools spend 8-14 times as much. So homeschooling is affordable. I believe local churches have an opportunity to provide for their members and parishioners these services and staff with their own volunteers. If necessary, provide for the training of volunteers and then partner with other local private charities.

@RebeccaMeals Indeed. Not too many years ago, when we mentioned George Soros in any conversation, we were labeled as conspiracy theorists.

When the State is the charitable monopoly, new private charities are not built.
Indeed. The uncomfortable truth is that when the State is offering these services, it becomes a monopoly and pushes out the private sector and charities. Our charities are woefully inadequate and since the American people are taxed to the hilt, they defer to the State for these programs.
