UPDATE on Jack: Hospice is on the way. He rallied today. Time to make him comfortable.
He ended his fight. We have days. Maybe hours according to them.
It’s ok. At least he will be at peace finally. ❤️

UPDATE on Jack: Hospice just left. They are sending liquid pain meds and a bunch of equipment. But they are not sure it will matter. He can't regulate his temperature anymore and is completely glass eyed now. They give him hours.
It's ok. It's time for him to be with Barb again❤️

UPDATE on Jack: he hit terminal lucidity yesterday. He can now talk and look at us. But he started twitching a little while ago. Hospice just left. I was told be to prepared for the best. The best being him at peace and no pain finally ❤️

UPDATE on Jack: he didn’t wake up today. He’s unresponsive but he can hear my wife and I. His heart rate is, well not good. His O2 is even worse. 😢😭

UPDATE on Jack: the cancer is taking its toll. Jack lost 11 lbs in a week. Some times he eats and most times he doesn’t. Medtronic is coming in to shit off his internal defibrillator this week 😢 he doesn’t want to be shocked. I understand that. The hospice nurse is great. Jack😢

UPDATE on Jack: we have to be at Hospice inpatient at 8pm tonight. Right now it’s just respite. It may change to GIP. But for now it’s just for him to be observed and I can rest. I’ll drive down every day to be with him, but I need to breath. I need to inhale right now.

I got the call I have dreaded. The scans show... Well, let's just say we are now entering in home Hospice. It has spread so far and so fast that nothing will prolong it.
But he did get to see his Eagles play in the Super Bowl. That was our goal and we did it. 😭💔

UPDATE on Jack: Jack stood in the center of his room. He didn’t know what he was supposed to do. He was trying to make it to the bathroom. Then he walked out to the living room and fell. Thank God he fell on to the couch.

I really don’t know how to tell the insane and hysterical story that just happened. But hospice didn’t send the liquid Haldol stat. My wife reminded me I was a child of ill repute. So Jack got his meds in slurry form and I learned I have skills from 30 yrs ago that can help now!

I’m laying here for the first time in 7 months with my wife and our puppy. My wife is snoring and pip is doing his nightly ritual of cleaning his paws. I missed this. I couldn’t be happier and I can’t stop crying.

UPDATE on Jack: 2 of his 40+ year friends came today to see him for the last time. Unlike previous visits, they were respectful. They didn’t mention his kids or his health. They just sat with him and talked about the old days back in PA. I’m sitting with him now. 💔❤️
