In my 20's I worked a job, drank, smoked weed, and partied.
In my 30's I quit my job, moved to the remote wilderness, and mined gold.
In my 40's I have a family, a successful business, and a solid real estate portfolio.
Here's what you can learn from how I got there.
🧵
@SaveYourSons
My 7 yo is getting into the habit of reading in bed before sleep.
I ask her to turn out the lights.
"Just one more chapter dad?"
Safe to say that every night she gets to read "just one more chapter,"
Reading is one of the most powerful success habits we can instill in them.
@SaveYourSons
I can't wait to teach my kid to drive. She's 7 now so it will happen in the next year or two.
Almost as good as teaching her how to shoot and make fire.
@ksorbs
I love how he just calmly keeps eating his apple. As the interviewer starts stumbling more and more.
Common sense. We need more of that up here.
@KonstantinKisin
What do you want to bet those red robes are polyester and made from the very oil and industrialized processes they are protesting against.
@ksorbs
We need more strong positive role models like you to share the fact that masculinity is a good thing in this world and we need to get back to the traditional values it embraces.
@sweatystartup
I have a construction company and watch the rates go up every year.
Yes, I have to pay the trades more but It is also getting easier to increase my rates and charge whatever I want.
Clients are finding the gap widening.
Cheap contractors with very little skills, or,
@creation247
We are homeschooling because I want to teach my children how to learn. Not what to learn.
I want to have my core values instilled in them. Not the current woke agenda that is being pushed in public schools.
@AlpacaAurelius
I eat a ton of meat, but, I also eat a ton of fruit and veggies. I avoid all overly processed foods and things with ingredients I can't pronounce.
Just eat a good mix of solid real food. Lots of protein and soluble fiber single ingredient foods.
It is really that simple.
@creation247
Man. I lived that life for years. No communication with the outside world. Wood heat. Completely reliant on myself.
It was 10,000 times worth it and something every man should experience for themselves.
@ElonMuskAOC
You are uncontrollable. So they fear you.
If you were bought and paid for. If you were in the pocket of those who are in power. They would be cheering you on.
But you are a maverick. So they fear you.
@AlpacaAurelius
People asking about sunscreen.
Many sunscreen products contain; avobenzone, oxybenzone, octocrylene, ecamsule, homosalate, octisalate, and octinoxate.
All of which are absorbed into your bloodstream through your skin.
Our bodies need the sun.
Cut seed oils out and moderate
@creation247
Conformism.
Most create to conform and fit in.
We used to create amazing things to try to impress and uplift.
Now, it is all about utility and doing the bare minimum.
And it shows in most people.
@AlpacaAurelius
And just two small words added can completely change the conversation.
"What do you like to do?"
Start using it, and watch people go blank when they have to think of something to say.
@SaveYourSons
1000% A good life isn't about stacking the biggest pile of money.
It's about stacking a massive pile of memories and experiences with family and friends.
@AlpacaAurelius
Just once I would like to see a doctor write a prescription for 2 hours of physical activity outside in the fresh air and sunshine.
It would solve so many of the problems they just prescribe pills for.
@reallytanman
I remember making butter every week as a kid on the farm.
Then, one day, my mother brought home margarine.
The flies wouldn't even touch it.
And she never bought it again.
Taught me everything I needed to know about processed oils and real, delicious butter.
@FitFounder
My daughter is 7 and she worked out with me yesterday. Then we went on a 2 hour bike ride.
I use heavy weights while she uses 1lb.
It's not about building muscle, it's about building habits.
@AlpacaAurelius
My wife puts Shungite all around our house.
Big bowl full of pieces in my office. Chunks by every computer and TV.
No idea how to tell if it is effective for us, but, if she believes it works, then it works, right?
@sweatystartup
And that is one reason I still own a construction / renovation company.
Our world will always need tradesman and there are less of them entering the workforce than will be needed.
@AlpacaAurelius
Our bodies are amazing at repairing themselves when you start cutting out the toxins and adding in the positive factors.
Eat real food, avoid chemicals in things like soap, food, and clothing, and get outside and be active as much as you can.
It really is that simple.
@elonmusk
@unusual_whales
Fkn classic.
You would think the BBC could have dug up a better NPC for that interview.
Looked like Elon was trying to get some serious answers out of him but he had a hard time even responding with intelligible dialogue.
@sweatystartup
So good Nick, so good.
I love watching you trigger people.
I have had employees from the Philippines as well.
They were able to work online and make more money working from home than anyone in their family ever had.
And it saved my business a ton of money.
Win, win.
@creation247
More governments should incentivize like this. But the exact wording should be clarified. The incentive should be for families, not just women.
Have 4 kids, stay married, and the family pays no taxes.
@SaveYourSons
Yea, I'm spoiled up here with the cool fall air already.
But either way. I'm not letting a little sweat stop me from playing with my kid. 😎
@_Pammy_DS_
Not everyone is meant for you.
There are lots of amazing people out there,
But,
If you stay stuck in the same small circle your whole life, you will never meet them.
Get out there and live.
@AlpacaAurelius
I make ice cream that is just whole milk, heavy cream, berries, bananas, and vanilla
Yes, the berries and bananas have some sugar in them
And yes, the cream has some fat in it
But, it is a great whole-food treat every once in a while
Not the processed store-bought crap
@Culture_Crit
It's a shame more buildings aren't made to traditional esthetics. There is something incredible about walking into a masterpiece like this.
@SaveYourSons
Love it. Outside in nature. Teaching him to help. Showing that size isn't the defining factor. Mechanics and physics concepts.
So much good about all of this.
@SaveYourSons
And we are stronger than we know.
Just use your willpower to get off the couch. Get up and start being active. Start playing with your kids or doing something fun.
This can give you energy once you get started. Your mind and body are powerful when you motivate them properly.
@creation247
College was a good idea 50 years ago when communication was linear and new skills and tech could only be learned in that type of setting.
Now, College is obsolete and a waste of time and money.
@sweatystartup
Same plumber starts a business and makes over 200k for 5 years in a row applies for a mortgage. Declined. Too risky.
Hi employee who makes half as much as him applies for a mortgage. Approved.
Banks are broken. When are you going to start one Nick?
@SaveYourSons
I love this one. And it's the reason that no matter what I'm doing, when my daughter comes into my office in the morning. I immediately stop and give her 100% focus.
I'll stop mid sentence. I'll drop whatever I'm doing. I'll even hang up the phone mid call.
Nothing is more
@SaveYourSons
I think of this every day.
Make every moment count.
But it is the eternal battle of the father. Between working to make money and provide or being their to make memories.
Making memories always wins.
@DaleStarkA10
I own a reliable contracting company. And yes, my costs are insane. The youth do not want to work with their hands and build tangible things.
The shortage is real and only getting worse.
@sweatystartup
I was going to reply,
"Can you simplify this for me?"
But most people wouldn't have got the joke.
But seriously, fk does this ever need to be repeated to every entrepreneur who just can't get out of their own way.
Set out to climb a mountain yesterday.
Didn't.
Got caught up in the beauty of the clouds and the rain in the valley.
Loved it.
Spent the day hiking and exploring along the river in the giant trees.
Worth it.
Not every goal has to end like you plan.
@SaveYourSons
That's a huge tip.
And then making sure you make the time to give them the 1 on 1 attention they need when you say you will.
When they trust that they are going to get dad time when you say they will, it instills a level of confidence and security they can't get anywhere else.
@Culture_Crit
The same thing that has caused the fall of almost every major world empire in history.
The debasement of the currency and spending more than their economy produces.
Whether it is spent on wars, decadence, loans and interest, or social spending.
The results are the same.
@gregisenberg
It is very cool watching experiments like this.
People literally have no excuse for a lack of ideas or execution anymore.
You just have to try something, anything, and you can get attention.
Part of being a man is doing the hard shit, when it needs to be done.
No putting it off until tomorrow. No waiting for better weather. No asking someone else to do it.
Just knuckling down and getting the Fkn job done.
@reallytanman
Eating real food and moving makes all the difference.
I grew up on a farm. There were literally zero fat kids in my school.
They all ate real food and moved.
Simple.
@SaveYourSons
I still make it a priority to "play fun" with my daughter as she grows.
Last night it was play dough kitchen. Then a puzzle, and time at the piano together.
Make believe time and connecting over games builds their imagination and skills.
And a bond thar will last forever.
In our quest for short term results, we often ruin a prized physical asset, a car a tool, a relationship.
Our health.
Don't sacrifice long term potential for short term gain.
@sweatystartup
Yea, I was chatting with a few of the disgruntled commenters in that thread.
So much hate and anger towards people who work hard to get ahead and want to employ others around the world.
So strange.
@SaveYourSons
I just sit down and start asking questions. It ignites their natural curiosity and 5 minutes later their imagination and desire to learn is taking us down rabbit holes of fun and exploration.
Our adult brains are so different that we tend to overcomplicate it.
@creation247
1000% We homeschool to teach how to learn. Not just what to learn. Our kids will grow up learning our values, not mass conformed twisted ideals.
@creation247
I just spent 3 weeks in the mountains working on a project. No travel. Walk in the forest every day. So quiet.
My body's entire chemistry changed from the peace and it only took 2 days back in the city to miss the silence.
I fkn hate traffic.
A man must be versatile.
As comfortable with a rifle in the wilderness as in a tuxedo at a formal event.
And ready to learn whatever is needed to adapt and evolve for any situation.
My daughter and I built this last night.
She got to learn about Newtons laws. Also, mass, inertia, friction, gravity, structural forces, and more.
Homeschooling is so much more than repeating and memorizing.
Teach them that learning is fun and they will always want to learn.
Remember back to when you were young
Remember when time passed slower
Days seemed to go on forever
Summer was an eternity
And you lived
And now?
What about now?
Do your days go by quickly?
Or do you still enjoy every moment?
What can you do to make every day last
