Awarding 150 million naira to the defamed lawyer.

In Rise Vest Technology Limited v. CBN, the court held that the CBN cannot rely on mere circular to freeze the bank accounts of a company transacting in cryptocurrency. According to Justice Taiwo O Taiwo, "Being unknown to the law, circulars cannot create an offence”
Although by the CBN circular No: BSD/DIR/GEN/LAB/14/001 of 5th February, 2021 , any transaction in crypto currency was prohibited and the CBN directed that any account used for it should be closed immediately.

Not trying to win the suffering war, but UNN-LAW needs more twitter PR. cos the way you guys elevate the harshness of studying law in UNILAG, Ife, UniIlorin and Co makes it seem mighty. In UNN-LAW, we run a semester in 3 months including exam, no school in Nigeria does that
Many do not have an idea of what it means to study Law in Ife. This is not to imply that brilliance or intelligence shouldn't be challenged, or that suffering has been monopolised. Very many people have lost the enthusiasm they resumed with because of self-doubt and frustration.

I seriously don't want to engage in paid internship of 50k a month. At least 100k upwards because law school expenses go too choke. For me, the best bet is to reach out to people in your area of interest and look for good paying job that accepts the LL.B cert and your own skill

Be outstanding in your work. Since my last internship in April, I have worked with two lawyers that gave me tasks during the internship. The work I have done with them has given me more interaction with the firm and the work they do plus they pay me well too. A win-win situation.

Congratulations. There's more work, post utme is another demon. I knew people who had 280+ but did badly in the post utme

Life no easy for broke students
I have been writing assignments, term papers, project chapters, occasionally drafting CV and drafting legal arguments for people for fees. Of course, this has taken a toll on my reading schedule
But na who chop, dey read
There are students whose monthly allowance is 10k or less. I'm not even capping!
With the rising cost of living, I wonder how they survive🤌

Lord Denning held this same opinion in his book, "Discipline of the Law", he had two whole chapters dedicated to the issue surrounding the interpretation of statutes. It's the major reason, he's always advised the courts to look at the intention rather than the plain words.

Had this client who was suspended for some illegal stuff by his Faculty house of Assembly, I didn't know how to defend him, until I saw guidelines that weren't followed. If not that he dropped the suit, it would been an epic battle at the SUG court 🥺
