Meanwhile, again and again in the old testament, we see “politics” (absurdly broad as they tend to describe the category) being used as the primary way God disciplines Israel and calls them to repentance. And not only that, but it works - fromthe cycle of oppression in Judges to the rebuilding of the wall in Nehemiah. God interacts with this world through kings and nations. It too is a way to see Him. And only wolves in shepherds clothes have demanded you turn a blind eye to it. Repentance is also, far more often than most would care to admit, downstream of politics.
