As a general rule when I’m house hunting, I refuse to stay in a compound or neighborhood with yahoo boys. You will regret your life because they’re irritants.
My cousin's yahoo boys neighbours are killing me with their non-stop music playing. There are new-born twins downstairs but these fuckers don't care, causing these children to be wailing constantly. As in, their gens go off and they switch to MP players. Jesus Christ.

It’s why when talk about grooming, a layer we don’t fully explore is that parents are always fully in support. They’ll rather you be 18 and married than be 30 and unmarried.
Obinna* (31) and Emem* (20) have been together for over a year. On this week’s Love Life, they talk about navigating their age gap, expecting a baby so early in their relationship and how marriage talks haven’t stopped the accusations that he groomed.

The nerve of you guys to hold this without Jaja.
Join me let’s have this conversation about Menstrual Hygiene as the world marks #MHDay2020. Conversations such as these help demystify a subject that has unfortunately been made a taboo. #PeriodsDontStopForPandemics

When you finish this one we will talk about how young girls in lower income households are groomed for sex work at early ages.
For one of them to beat me up because I politely asked him to stop flirting with my 14-year-old sister? It wasn't funny! And I was scared that if he could do that while I was right there what would he do in my absence???!.

I hope for all our sakes that many of you do not have kids because when I say that Nigerians do not see children as their own individual persons, una go say I Dey lie but look at the reactions.
The moment I clocked that I’ll have to stay in my parents house after graduation I knew I had to set clear boundaries. Anything I can’t tolerate for the next 5 years, I no dey start am now. And one of those very few boundaries is nobody should call me in the morning, leave me. 1.

Even as financial mates, except you’re not the giving birth kind, there’s no reason to do 50/50 with a man but Goodluck to everyone involved.
You’re significantly out earning me and you want me to do 50/50?! .You will perish please .Open your damn wallet or leave me alone .Go and date your financial mate and do 50/50 financially there okay?.

You are assuming that Nigerian parents see a problem with grooming. This is a society that is built on heavy rape and pedophilic culture across regions.
I can’t emphasize this enough but Nigerian parents need to let their daughters be aware of the dangers of grooming and how to spot the signs. We cannot leave girls clueless on how much of a threat these moids are to them.

You for allow her dey baff you too.
Busy as she is, she still cooks my meals and serves me herself. Many young ladies these days leave everything to the house help. My wife still trims my nails for me. There was a time when I was a teacher and was staying far from town. #MGO72.

Lack of information especially in already poorer households and communities mean that the divide between the poor and the rich will continue to widen.
Outstanding. But, the missing context is that her father is a Regional Manager for ACCA in Nigeria. Having informed parents or guardians can make a significant difference. Now, she is being prepared for direct entry into uni, giving her a solid advantage over her peers.

You don’t even have to be Igbo to see how weird and offensive this is.
Genevieve Nnaji and Ramsey Noah together as rival deadly assassins who fall in love. 18th century west Africa where lots of tribal feuds were common and beautiful Igbo women were a sacred prize to be won only in battle 😁.

@Jaemi_ahmadu It’s so sad because you can see the scared child locked away in the 35yr adult.

August is too far. On the TL in the last 24 hours, there’s a case of a young girl being ganged raped in Bayelsa. Even one woman who has to go through abuse is one woman too much and yet birds will bird.
There was a time in August that we had femicide news everyday for two weeks straight but “It is women’s world and women love to be seen as victims”. A foolish bird.

Because a man’s idea of submission is what submission actually is and not all those “you control by submitting” clownery that babes do.
Your idea of submission is not a man's idea of submission. To him, you are property. I no dey wan talk plenty, una dey behave like eba but you see that human rights, you must collect it by force.

Yes! Even in wanting to die, I still want to live. I want to live away from pain. I want to live beautifully without looking over my shoulder wondering if today is the day pain wins. I want to live away from the fight.

The worst part is you’ll have one person in one corner telling you that you’re not working hard enough that’s why you can’t afford the things you need. Meanwhile said person go be trust fund kid.
Being poor actually sucks because what do you mean you’ve wanted a phone since 2022 and you’re just getting it now when there are people that can afford to change their phone is less than an hour. Poverty is depressing.

This. There’s not a single thing that will happen if you say you don’t want certain things. People don’t want to insist don what they want because “na culture”.
There’s nothing going on at YOUR wedding that you can’t stop. My cousin insisted that her wedding wouldn’t be held at her father’s house because he did nothing for her. Chose the uncle who helped her through school. Told her dad not to speak at the wedding. And nobody died.

Many of them don’t realize they truly don’t want kids into they have said kids. So they pour their frustrations on those kids for existing.
I was thinking to my self the other day from observing a parent and their child at a bus stop: Why are Nigerian parents always so angry at their children?. There's absolutely no patience with their kids.

Dear feminism, I nor do again. Signed: Management.
From today, I cease to identify with the secular feminist institution. As a Christian, my journey as a passionate feminist was a tad labyrinthine because for what feminism has evolved into; some of the beliefs do not corroborate the Gospel of Christ that saved me.

After Lagos and Abuja, Delta is the next expensive state and when you strip the layers it’s insane because the only things fueling the state is yahoo, Keke and POS yet “lekki standard 2 bedroom for 3.5million”.You will think it’s skit.
Yahoo boys are pricing out regular folk on rent across this country and we are not talking about it enough. A university lecturer cannot afford a 2 bedroom flat in Abraka, he has to live in a neighbouring town.

@Jaemi_ahmadu New parents are raising another kind of rude, brash and terribly behaved kids who have no idea of consequences.

The raping and turning them to actual house maids who will cook and clean up after everyone.
Even the fraud that Nigerian males are acting like they had no choice but to learn, has anyone wondered why girls are not found in Hustle kingdoms (HK) like boys? Because they will rape you and make you the property of the Oga. Instead of learning the work like the boys, you will.

@1BlaisePark Not everyone will be able to get their own apartment for whatever reason, does it mean that children can never have peace or freedom in their parents house??.
