I think we let labour get away with white washing their record too much on gay rights. When most of the stuff they did in the Blair years was forced on them by the ECHR, after labour defended the discrimination on court.

Our democracy functions on the basis of 1000s of volunteer hours given up by normal people. Those normal people have some responsibility to the message they spread, but if you are mad with the party, take it up with the party. Don't scream at ordinary people in the street.

I have a relative who is stealth, who has been transitioned for over 10 years. Who would never be clocked in a million sundays. Yet she will be put on a male ward. That's barbarous, inhumane and frankly a breach of human rights.

I was outed at school. My teachers found out via rumour and innuendo before I told my parents.
I didn't confide deliberately but if I'd been in a dangerous home then what? The terfs would have got me killed.
If you require teachers to tell parents if their child comes out at school, you force more LGBT kids to live hidden lives for longer. We know that this increases the risks of self harm, suicide AND abuse. If you support this "common sense" proposal, that's what you're supporting.
