My 12 yr old son gets anxious using public toilets because he has long hair and gets regularly told he's in the wrong place. Makes me sad and I have no helpful answers for him except hope for unisex loos...
Silent dog acting hugely out of character & spontaneous leafletting 😞 Made me extra grateful for our NHS, free care and the lovely staff. Danica was incredible and I'm sure will make a full recovery. I hope never to be handed a body part on ice again though!
Leafleting took a dark turn today unfortunately. I have sadly lost half of my finger and am in the hospital waiting to see if they can attach it again 🤞🤞🤞 luckily I have the amazing

My son's English homework on witches. He has read

I don't know how to describe the devastation on this site and the continued damage being done. If I didn't know better I would say it was drastic hedge management and a landowner securing a field. But it's an SNCI, has dormice and a rare species of grass fly.

This is my view. It looks lush & peaceful & lovely. But there is a huge, busy road behind me & I am sat here, trying not to cry, waiting to see how long my son can handle being in school. Things are hard at the moment for many reasons. Everyone has their own struggles. Be kind.

Thrilled to have been elected to represent Bedminster for

It's not often an email from the council fills me with joy but this does: 'I am delighted to inform you that...we will shortly...be accepting Street Party, Temporary Play Street (TPSO) and Section 16 major event road closure applications.'

Lush thread! Hope she finds her feet. I'm totally London-blind so no idea if it's an easy link but a friend has a Ukrainian refugee in Bounds Green.
I had an

Always good to start day with meeting about how child is STILL struggling w school, in yr 8 (not been in a lesson properly since Feb). Education system is inflexible & support systems are broken. We are using our privilege to help & still feel despair. ❤️ To others in same boat.

I want to build a team of wonderful, imaginative and committed people to help run

Celebrated the life & mourned the death of a dear friend today. She really was beautiful inside and out, & the venue was packed with love. My heart goes out to all those who will miss her intensely. 'People may not remember what you said or did but how you made them feel.' ❤️❤️❤️
First day of term vibes yesterday as I sat in the council chamber for 1st time. More drama than I expected... Followed by a brilliant community play about the impact of crime on a group of neighbours

Working on

Jaz is my fellow candidate in

and she is brilliant! She knows the ward really well, is very passionate and enthusiastic, has kids (like me) and has experience campaigning for Yew Tree Farm. I'm so thrilled she's standing 😊

My son has a dry, persistent cough. I got him tested per the guidelines. Family isolated. We've just received a negative result. He's still ill so I'm keeping him home. Boris Johnson does not know what he is talking about. I don't know anyone who would take a test unnecessarily.

! Spent my childhood reading books not seeing the films (no TV) but discovering books through TV as adult - this series is one of them!
Devastated for my friend whose kids were taken into foster care today, miles away. She has broken her hip & can't look after them, or even visit them easily. Feeling particularly grateful for my family & support network & thinking of all those struggling at the moment.
Crikey. Well. I have woken up this morning to no more
@StorytaleFest
2019! Still loads to do (feedback surveys, evaluation, applying for funding for next year...) but this year's chapter is over. I met so many wonderful people, learnt so much and discovered some fantastic books!
@xandvt
To be fair, they've only been talking about it for forty years. No time at all and no-one could have been expected to react with that timeframe.
@matthaig1
So sorry, it's such a hard thing to experience. I've had 4 pregnancies, 2 kids. Abortion & miscarriage. We don't talk about it enough. I'd no idea 1/4 pregnancies fail. Made me determined to talk more. Discovered many similar stories. We need to be more open about it.
@silverpebble
I know it's only virtual but I thought you might like my husband's homemade bum bread. Your posts are pockets of joy and delight. I hope the depression gives you a break and you find some joy for you.
Thank you for all the enthusiasm for

. It's really exciting & daunting. We planned to start w 12 events in south Bristol but it's grown a bit...! We've no £ & limited capacity so can't cope with any more events this yr but v happy to start a list for next year!
Went shopping. With both kids. Mistake. Fortunately the bookshop was on the list, with a particularly fine looking window. (photo by my 10 yr old as we queued) ❤️

but the current interview about children missing school is making my blood boil. Please interview someone whose child is struggling with school, due to the lack of support for SEN & MH due to funding cuts & education being such a difficult sector to work in.
Shoutout to everyone experiencing Sunday night blues. May your Monday go quicker than you expected and be full of good moments and kind people, with hugs and cake around the corner.

So this year, the duck came back. Mrs Mallard, as Dad calls her. She scoped the balcony out, destroyed a few plants, picked the planter she wanted to nest in and settled down. My Dad - and I in fairness - were absolutely delighted she came back.
Gloomy chats with both my parents, temperamental kids isolating, tears, a lot of vacuuming... Looking forward to brighter days next week. Hope everyone is hanging in there. Only three weeks until 2021...
2/4 of us have covid...i took 2 lateral flows yesterday that were negative but my pcr was positive. Eldest has already had a positive pcr. My only symptom is a sore throat. Plus side is I will be catching up on

I'm planning a book club for teenagers focusing on comic books & graphic novels in a local secondary as part of my degree. Any hints, tips, ideas around ensuring engagement, hidden gems of books, key research I should be looking at?

Thank you all for yr kind responses. It was unexpected & overwhelming (in a good way)! He did 30 mins on Tues & I'm back here again, feeling a bit less lonely, hoping he'll do 30 mins again. It's been an emotional week full of grief for a friend, doubt & worry.

I was crossing a field earlier and felt my stomach muscles loosen & my head slow down... a break from the continual underlying worry about everything. We heard a lark, saw some housemartins & smelt some elderflower.

My son is in yr 7. No covid restrictions really so far. Testing twice a week. We got a letter yesterday saying students need to wear masks and test daily. It feels slightly panicked but i am relieved.

I did the International Baccalaureate 20 yrs ago. 6 subjects + Philosophy, learning a skill, doing something active & volunteering. A well rounded course that was a mix of coursework, exams & other elements. It prepared us well for uni if that's what we chose. It can be done.
I am passionate about
