@dkrussell61 You don't realize that what you're saying is ironic because every year they do add those exact kinds of guys and its always at the expense of more skilled players. They should probably forgo "playoff type players" and focus on guys who are just good.

@stewonstroke Kerfoot was worth way more than that and Engvall should come back, he's great and super underrated.

@pitchforkedpuck Also, just for the record, its rare that a commercially successful film is any good. Same with music and art. The general public has terrible taste, which should be obvious to anyone whose seen Wolverine vs Deadpool or heard a Coldplay song.

@pitchforkedpuck Yes I do. The reason is because the mono-culture is non-existant, so the number of movies competing for your dollars is smaller than it's ever been so these numbers are wildly inflated when compared to older movies.

@pitchforkedpuck Honestly, box office numbers don't mean anything. The superhero movie is dead to anyone with reasonable taste, and it's been obvious for a while.

@pitchforkedpuck yeah but b/c there are so few major releases with pop culture cache, the numbers today are wildly inflated. Inside Out 2, which is horrendous, is one of the highest grossing movies ever. And Deadpool vs Wolverine is one of the worst things in the history of humanity.

@Joe62060833 Yeah Kadri for Kerfoot was a win for the Leafs and they got a bonus year of Barrie. But kerfoot style players (don't score, don't hit) are extremely underrated in the NHL.

@pitchforkedpuck It's not the stories though. Its just the concept as a whole had its moment and its done now. I'm sure there will still be the occasional decent comic book movie, maybe they'll make a comeback in the future, but people as a culture are done with them for now.

@xxxDADDYCOOLxxx Honestly, I realize those are name-brand guys, but they are no longer stars and in the NHL the difference between random guys and the best non star player is so small that it's never worth the extra salary cap money. The Leafs have no need for washed up ex-stars.

Unless they're getting Jordan Kyrou or Rob Thomas, the Toronto Maple Leafs should not be trading with the St. Louis Blues.
