So sad to hear about the passing of Joey Meyer. Until the night of this photo in 2018, I only knew him as the “failed” coach at DePaul. Took about 45 seconds to realize what a great person and coach he was. So generous with his time with me and I could have talked all night.

It’s “wealthy” because people are ok with ticket prices being insane. The game will be in trouble when current kids are ticket-buying age and pass on MLB games. Unless they’re in the 1%, they’ll never have the proximity to players and field we did to fall in love with game.

Just spoke with my son about what’s happening tonight in sports (and more importantly, the world). We learned about the difference between empathy and sympathy. My goal is to raise understanding children who would also stand up against racism.

I agree, to a point. I do believe that feeling like you need to “produce” for that one AB, IP, or inning defensively can be detrimental in the wrong situations. Still need to make sure those kids understand their future opportunities don’t hinge on that one time coming in cold.
