@JDavisPGH @ccdemko @Dan_Grzybek Your premise regarding abuse is false and there has been much debunking of that. Even if it were true though, Musk essentially a private citizen should not have the ability to shut down an agency created by Congress. That's tyrrany. Let Congress consider it.

@JDavisPGH @Dan_Grzybek Have Congress, which has consistenty reupped the program for its importance, democratically consider that question. Resorting to the word of Musk alone is tyranny. Congress created the program. Musk does not get to shut it down.

@JDavisPGH @Dan_Grzybek That's untrue. Musk has publicized all sorts of nonsense and outside states have laid the misinformation groundwork for such conclusions (China would love to be the only soft-power in the game). Check out Atul Gawande for his insights into the program

Stunning corruption . . . just stunning.
1. Musk is launching a digital wallet and peer-to-peer payment services on X. Meanwhile, Musk's associates have just been granted access to confidential information about X's competitors, an official at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau told Musk Watch. 🧵

Trump/Musk attacks the civil service, universities, and all of civil society by firing government employees, & cutting funds to Univ. & all nonprofits w/authoritarian reason. It's a coordinated attack on democratic order. These r the last places 4 the protection of democracy.
The Chronicle of Philanthropy is tracking layoffs and closures in the nonprofit sector directly related to the federal funding freeze. If you have been laid off or have witnessed layoffs, program cuts, or closures due to changes in federal funding, please comment below. Please comment only if your organization — or an organization on which your nonprofit financially depends — has been receiving federal grants. We're interested in as much detail as is possible to share, such as the number of people affected, the annual budget of your program/nonprofit, its cause area(s), and ripple effects in terms of populations/programs served. If you prefer to share the details privately, please email Tamara Straus, senior editor, at tamara.straus@philanthropy.com.
