Not really Eustace Plimsoll (who is a fictional fictional character. click the link below), just an anonymous economist trying to make his way in this world.
@dhookstead
@ComfortablySmug
No. He does not. He said they gave advice to everyone because of those in their cohort who were in Afghanistan, although he was in support only. This is pathetic.
@shadihamid
It's not complicated. Hamas butchered, raped, and kidnapped Israelis, then hid behind civilians in Gaza. Israel has pursued Hamas and civilians have died as a result of Hamas's cowardice and lack of regard for Palestinian lives. It is not difficult to support Israel over Hamas.
@jasonomahony
The numbers are a few years old, but the rankings are not changed much. Ordinary Americans in what are considered poor states are as rich as ordinary Europeans in its rich countries.
Scandalous: "Facing a National Shortage of Baby Formula, Trade Officials Opposed a Plan to Boost Imports."
"Among their concerns: that it would raise 'lots of questions from domestic dairy producers.'"
@SheenaQuatro
@marionumber4
That sentence doesn't mean anything. People don't have median incomes. The median income is the income of the person at the 50th percentile.
@oren_cass
Yes, because they are different things that arise for different reasons and which have different effects. Are you just afraid of the word "deficit"?
@LeoECasey
@jessesingal
He did not claim that he had a hand in writing the chapters. Nor did he claim that he was on a zoom call about the chapters. He said that HE wrote that sentence.
@leighbeadon
They are not saying different things. Economists say the motivation is profit. Entry occurs when there is excess profit, which drives down the price. Entry stops when prices fall to eliminate the excess profit.
@jacobin
F. Scott Fitzgerald to Ernest Hemingway, "You know, the rich are different from you and me."
Hemingway replied, "Yes. They've got more money."
Good to see that you guys are finally getting around to this notion.
@JohnStrandUSA
The better question is what do you do when a fool of an ex president is an obvious felon? Do you laugh at losers who compare him to lynching victims, or do you laugh really hard at them. Tough choice.
@timpplex
@caroljsroth
So if things that aren't income are counted as income then a meaningless percentage can be calculated? Is salary and wages weren't counted as income, what would your tax rate be?

Democrats are shutting down schools and honors programs because they have too many Asians, and its not Republican-run cities where Asian hate crimes have spiked. A better way to put it us that the GOP isn't doing to them what the Dems are doing.

@DineshDSouza
My theory is that he knows that Trump tried to get him to violate the Constitution to overthrow an election. Also, he might have heard about Trump inciting a mob that threatened to kill him. Just a theory.
The idea that trade policy doesn't affect trade because the real issue is savings and investment decisions gets causation backward. Wouldn't an economy's attractiveness as a place to build/produce have a powerful effect on savings and investment? Of course it would.

@EliseJoshi
I think a lot of people would get hurt by all the golf balls being hit through their apartments. And what would the rules be for getting a drop vs taking a stroke. I think this is unworkable, unfortunately.
@MarianneSauvage
@tribelaw
What they do understand is that it is one shot per action of the trigger. Each shot requires a new action by the trigger. What you and Tribe fail to understand is that the trigger is not the same as the trigger finger.
@60Minutes
Why fear that? It's the whole point of the technology. Unless, of course, climate change wasn't the real motive for wanting to centrally plan the economy.
@GlennKesslerWP
The headline belies the article, which lies about what Republicans generally claim. The piece does outline that Bragg's ties are exactly as Republicans claim: Bragg is Soros-backed.
@JamesMartinSJ
It is not about serving! It is about speech. Should a Catholic be forced to write "The pope is the anti-Christ" on a website for a Protestant church?
@BrrrPrinter
What if you see an obviously antisemitic tweet such as an Israeli flag taking over the US? Can that be pointed out as being antisemitic without losing credibility?

@POTUS
The people without guns are serious about seizing guns from those who have them? Lol. I take it that you're not going to do it yourself.
He will probably delete without correction, but the senior content strategist with the Foundation FOR Econ Ed keeps telling people very wrong stuff about the CPI.
@miltimore79
@KnoxBetrayed
@mattyglesias
Your point is nonsense. This is from table 2 of the BLS release. Shelter is the largest component of the CPI. Where on earth did you get your info?
@sharifkouddous
Wow. One thing that is for sure: it is not possible to just make up names and numbers and write them on a piece of paper. It's just impossible.
@politvidchannel
lol. Given that he didn't ever have a 2A case, he never bothered to look up "well-regulated militia" to find out that it means a "populace that can use guns properly" and not a state army that is regulated.
@GaryHeinlein1
We get it. You want to keep poor kids away from yours. You spend money to get a good education for your kids, and having to mix with the poors would ruin it for you. Better to keep them segregated in crappy schools to keep the campaign donations coming from edu unions.
@mjs_DC
Do you ever get the feeling that the reason you are routinely surprised like this is that you start from the wrong assumptions about justices and their motivations?
@Super70sSports
Saw an interview with Worthy recently. Being a year ahead of Jordan, Worthy was the better of the two at first. Which he said lasted about 3 weeks.

Nobody, including you, thinks this is anti-Semitic. You are diminishing actual anti-Semitism with these pathetic attempts.

@mattyglesias
I believe his point is that they continue to be leftist wackadoodle activists in the face of criticism that they are just a bunch of leftist whackadoodle activists. His advice might be to stop being leftist whackadoodle activists and start being a serious academic subject.
@WhiteHouse
Do you know that there are differences between student loans and PPP loans? One important difference is that the former were designed to be paid back while the latter were not.
