People love to point out that Jesus spent time with prostitutes, tax collectors, and other sinners, and "didn't judge them", but they conveniently leave out a few important factors. (Short thread)

@DrakeDragoon3 @RadioGenoa You think a public museum that consists of gifted artwork and valuable artifacts is the same as a guy buying a private jet? 😂😂

@DrakeDragoon3 @RadioGenoa Yes, they're museums. Publicly available museums that anyone can see, specifically so they can witness some of the greatest works mankind has ever produced for the glory of God.

@DrakeDragoon3 @RadioGenoa And you're factually wrong. Donations from the laity are not going to fancy artwork. And the properties were most often built by the people themselves, and entire towns and cities were built around them as the focal point as a testament to their faith.

@DrakeDragoon3 @RadioGenoa Again, *it's not the possessions of individuals.* The stuff in the Vatican belongs to the whole Church.

@DrakeDragoon3 @RadioGenoa And like I said, they didn't go out and buy most of those things. They were gifts, or they came from the personal patronage of wealthy Italian families.

@DrakeDragoon3 @RadioGenoa The Catholic Church already does more than every other nongovernmental charity in the world. Most of the art and gold in the vatican were gifts from kings or nations, and aren't the disposable property of one person. They represent the collective desire to give our best to God.

@OrthodoxReflec1 @superxtianmario Ah, you're referring to the adjective "orthodox" and retrojecting the title "Orthodox". Note that in the link you provided they called it "Catholic Christian" and not "Orthodox Catholic".
