When you have an ancestor that fought there, it seems more personal than historical.

Then came the moment that changed history. As the sun began to set, Sobieski ordered a cavalry charge—the largest in history. 20,000 horsemen descended from the hills, with 3,000 Polish hussars at the front.

@DukeOfTrads @superxtianmario The correct phrase for that era is Orthodox Catholic. This is why you will find icons and statues of Eastern Saints in Roman Catholic parishes. You had multiple Greek speaking Roman Popes in the time period, and Greek speaking priests and bishops throughout the West.

@DukeOfTrads @superxtianmario One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church until (really) into the 13th Century. Not just St Patrick was Orthodox Catholic, all the saints of the 1st Millennium were. The RC hierarchy will confirm this. We are even bringing back Western Liturgics.

@tizintest @VerminusM Over all, it appears that the West Bank is approximately 70% Jewish/Israelite in genetic origin. Palestinian Christians, just to reiterate, are somewhere between 88-97% descended from the people of Israel.

@RussianRedJen @VerminusM The average Palestinian Muslim in the West Bank has more Israelite DNA than Benjamin Netanyahu, whose father was born in Warsaw and whose real last name is Mileikowsky.

@Mankosmash @uncreated_light @Rach4Patriarchy There was no Russian Church in Ukraine after the start of the war. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church broke communion with Moscow and declared independence. This was all directed at a Ukrainian Church run by Ukrainians to benefit schismatics.

@GuardedGod @Peppe143 @6StringsUmarell @misfitpatriot_ You have read the Bible, perhaps, but rejected the Church that gave it to you. Which is why you don't understand it. You cannot argue from authority against the Church founded by God, which had the authority to even tell which books belong in scripture.

@GuardedGod @Peppe143 @6StringsUmarell @misfitpatriot_ So what happened on the night before He gave himself up when He took Bread and Wine and proclaimed then His Body and Blood? What is Paul describing in 1st Corinthians? And we are Orthodox, not Roman Catholic. The Eucharist is the center of Christian worship.

@GuardedGod @Peppe143 @6StringsUmarell @misfitpatriot_ Rabbinic Judaism is not synonymous with Mosaic religion. Specifically, Rabbinic Judaism lacks the Temple and its sacrifices, which were considered as the means of forgiveness and salvation for as long as it stood.
