Urmia (East Armenians) it is very common. Iraqi Armenians it is common as well. In Syria it happens all the time between Syriac Orthodox Assyrians and Armenians.
Even before the genocide look at Diyarbakir, Urfa, Mardin, Intermarriage was unbelievably common.

The Babylonians spoke Akkadian, and so did the Assyrians.
But the Ancient Chaldeans were migrants to Mesopotamia, pretty much the consensus among historians, and they spoke a West Semitic language.
