Police work = Being a force of goodness and creating just outcomes. That being said, you don't like my views or opinions, feel free to FAFO. 😎

@TheTNHoller
Unacceptable for the officers to stand around and do nothing. They failed in their obligation of addressing crime and disorder, and their failure should be considered criminal malfeasance.
@allisonsherry
Based on the article, deputies exhibited horrendous decision making and deficient problem solving skills. State patrol had the right idea so it's unfortunate they weren't allowed to take command.
24 year police veteran here; this sort of response wouldn't fly if I'm on scene.
@davenewworld_2
@MLovesDemocracy
Do me a favor, future cops; if you operate at this level of extreme fear and paranoia, don't enter the field of law enforcement. We don't want you. The job is difficult enough without people like you over-reacting and using deadly force where none was necessary.
@SecretFire79
Penance to your magical sky daddy? Nahh. What a waste of time. I do things that really matter, like volunteering at homeless shelters and helping elderly neighbors who have no family.
@FightHaven
Not sure why any old man thinks it's a good idea to challenge another man in their 20s or 30s. And I say this as a rapidly aging older man.
F'd around and found out.
You can't do this job if you operate solely on fear, panic, and paranoia. This cop's response is utterly disgraceful and cowardly, and someone as incompetent as this has no business working in a position of public trust. RIP.
@TheTNHoller
Additionally, how embarrassing for the coward who threw the sucker punch. The victim hardly felt it and didn't move more than an inch or two.
#bulliesareweak
@ClarkHall3
Current city cop 20+ years. Seems like a great part of my day is spent dispelling and destroying the "us v them" embedded culture. So strong in police culture, reinforced by other officers and supervisors, and strengthens in intensity along with cynicism and years on the job.
@sdut
Unless you happen to work in law enforcement, you may not realize the level of courage it takes to push back against the monolithic aura of the police culture. It's a daily struggle that will destroy you from the inside out if you let it. Kudos to this agent for speaking out.
@KATVViktoria
@KATVNews
Absolutely and unequivocally disgusting that a public servant would commit such an atrocious act. Is this the best we got for police chiefs? He should never work in a position of public trust again.
@WillAnd18685171
On point, Will. Youngsters like you and my son and a few others i know give me hope that the next generation of police officers are going to be in for the right reasons and therefore set a high standard.
@stclairashley
Doesn't matter to me that much. I try to live my life without worrying what other free Americans are doing with theirs. You should try it sometime. Especially considering your party's platform of "freedom".
@MZanona
As a 23 year police veteran, let's support Officer Sicknick's mother's request. To GOP senators and all officers of the Capitol PD: Sicknick is owed a debt of gratitude; if you don't fulfill his mother's request, I don't want to hear another word about law and order from the GOP.
@DogRightGirl
@JoJoFromJerz
Like you care about immigrants. Your hate is celebrating this tragedy. Your hate will lead to an early grave, and it's looking like age has not been nice to you as it is.
@PhotoJazzy
As a 22 year veteran police officer, I don't say this lightly; the Buffalo PD has lost its way. Many of them are bully, criminal thugs masquerading as police officers and promoting big government tactics. If I were a resident of Buffalo, I'd demand a do over from the chief down.
@AttorneyCrump
@PAStatePolice
Again, too many cops are indoctrinated into a culture that operates on fear, paranoia and panic, instead of reason and de-escalation. Until communities demand a change in culture from the top down, tragedies like this will continue to happen.
Me trying to explain to junior HS students why they should care about homelessness. I'm hoping to light a fire in a young mind that will carry over to meaningful change in the years ahead. We're already in a world of trouble as it is.
@charliekirk11
Right bc everyone knows only multinational corporations and the uber wealthy deserve bail out money. You sound silly and really out of touch with the average working American patriot.
@StephenSeanFord
Been in police work 23 years and any cop with an iota of common sense can tell she was just looking for a safe, well lit place to pull over. Stupid and police work are not a good fit. And the chief is as big a fool as this cop if he lets him keep his job.
@RexChapman
From a current police officer of 22 years; there is no reforming that, Rex. That is hate, anger, injustice, crime, racism, intolerance and poor decision making all rolled into one. The reform needs to take place at the top for police chiefs who refuse to fire officers like this.
@MichaelRapaport
So that gives Israel the right to steal Palestinian land, disproportionately kill Palestinians and treat them like second class citizens? Come on, man.
@ahouse4all
@KPickhart
I've seen this exact scenario play out in Denver. Tragic and so avoidable if affordable housing had been a priority for any administration of the past 30 years.
24 year law enforcement veteran here and I support
@Coleen4SD

The good news is that many types of calls are now being handled by civilian technicians. My prediction is that within a couple decades most calls will be handled by report technicians and mental health professionals, with uniforms handling mostly only life or death type calls.
Only 1 thing makes my blood boil more than excessive force, and it's this. How can you claim to care about public safety when you don't care enough to control your emotions and not shoot kidnapping victims and hostages. Family should be asking for criminal charges. Unacceptable.
NEW: Video reveals San Bernardino sheriffs fatally shot Savannah Graziano, 15, a reported kidnapping victim, while she was unarmed + following deputies instructions to move to them.
They continued shooting even after one officer said "Stop shooting her"
Devastatingly disappointing when good officers leave the police force. It's as if the progress that has been made takes a number of step back. And then we have to start over, with fewer of us facing the monumental challenge of fighting for change.
@NoShoesMon
@ClarkHall3
This is the one which caused me the most grief at work. But I still firmly believe what I said and even those who disagreed with me posting it could not disagree with the message itself.
This police officer was ordered to take down his video message. But I was not. Here is the video I screen captured before it was deleted. All should hear this. More police should speak up.
@Brandy86753091
@chron
As a 24 year policing vet, I respectfully disagree. The police failed to act and mostly likely it was out of cowardice. This job is not for everyone, especially those who lack composure and courage.
To all my colleagues in law enforcement: If you think your values align with the extreme, far right, please turn in your badge bc you don't belong in a position of public trust.
To ALL my law enforcement colleagues out there: If a non-law enforcement civilian is capable of exercising this level of restraint, courage, and self control, don't ever try to tell me you had to shoot or even tase a 95 pound grandmother bc you "feared for your life."
Ron DeSantis' authoritarian police-state press conference has one purpose: To let everyone know he will not tolerate dissent. I write about why this state power should scare us all.
To all my fellow cops who said it was justified, who said they would "reserve judgement" until the full story came out, who said he would be acquitted, who said he was railroaded, who said the conviction would be overturned on appeal; Chauvin is going to prison for over 20 years.
@michellemalkin
12 jurors, most of them Caucasian, heard all the evidence in person, firsthand, and deemed Holtclaw guilty on most counts. Yet a couple of YouTube videos convinced you he's innocent? You ever think about self reflection?
@ErrolWebber

Doesn't matter. As a free American, she was entitled to refuse to be present during the national anthem. Just like she's entitled to receive the same protection as anyone else from the United States government.

3 grown men with guns versus 1 middle aged woman behind a wall armed with only a hammer.
Do your community a favor; plead guilty, do your time, and never work in law enforcement again.
You guys are a freaking embarrassment.
@LegendaryEnergy
The world is a meritocracy?? You mean like the trump children who've never worked a day in their lives??
Paying people more to stay home than if rhey had a job? Where's this occurring? Sources?
Dr. Phil is an out of touch wealthy elitist.
My daughter yesterday helping me hand out food and sleeping bags to the homeless. Instill empathy in your kids or they'll grow up thinking it's ok to continue to ignore poverty and refer to our social safety net as wasteful spending, while giving millionaires tax cuts.
Just moved to the new house and had to make the dogs a window so they could see what's going on out front. Looks like they're loving it. Any one need help doing the same, just hollar.
The face I make when I overhear a certain congressman tell a MAGA simp that the events of January 6 were nothing to fear, yet I recall this very congressman fleeing the Capitol, or as Offier Fanone put "he ran like a bitch." 💯
25 year veteran city cop here. DO NOT support candidates who want to give blanket immunity to LE. Good cops who operate on composure, de-escalation, and logic don't need it. And it'll make bad cops unaccountable. Last thing good cops want is to have to work around bad cops.
This is Sean Grayson the cop that executed Sonya Massey in her own home and then tried to cover it up. He is the kind of cop that Trump wants to give immunity to. Vote out every effing Republican on the ballot.
@ESOP_STL
Unbelievable to me that any officer would think keeping a knee on a man's neck for several minutes is reasonable. I've had this happen in front of me and my immediate response is to put a stop to it and find another method of restraint if necessary.
@BrettMmurphy
As a 23 year police veteran, i must admit that police related misconduct investigations should really be conducted by independent entities apart from the police department. I've seen too many investigations compromised bc of the internal affairs dynamic.
@AuthorKimberley
22 year city cop here. This is the result of most officers being conditioned/trained to operate on pure fear, paranoia, and panic, instead of reason, composure, and common sense. This officer needs serious retraining or possibly a new line of work.
@Deerex122
@Morbidful
Your hero murdered a 47 year old mother by tying her hands behind her back and holding her body under water. All bc he wanted to steal her car. Quite a hero you got there.
@Fullertonian
@DonLew87
Riiiight.... just like how antifa tried to overthrow the government on January 6? Regardless of their candidate winning the election? Riiight....
@ChudsOfTikTok
@evil_daze
Many cops, and many people in general, find it difficult to hold themselves accountable for darn near anything for which they might be at fault.
@JCRiecke
You've never noticed what's happened to previously developed "affordable housing" in the past?
Here's a hint; turns out it's not really affordable.
@j_cutting
@SwiftWriter
Not sure when this occurred but I assure you police work has changed, and continues to change, for the better. At least in major metro areas where there's more demand for accountability. I've been in it for 23 years. What that lieutenant did is disgraceful. He belongs in prison.
@roughnrowdy
@OldRow_Georgia
When you decline a D1 football scholarship to join a male security club, you really need to check your decision making ability.
@DesignationSix
@ReduxPanda
I put them in the same category as cops who quit bc they're offended by more police accountability. I'd rather work alongside honest, new cops than corrupt, old ones.
@RepAndyBiggsAZ
Is your "win" going to give me a raise? Lower my health care costs? Lower gas prices? Make wealthy elites pay the same tax rate as I do? None of the above? Right that's what I thought. Try doing something for the middle class, or resign.
@rolandsmartin
Go for it, Roland!! You're one of the most articulate, analytic, clear thinking political and historical commentators in modern day media and I wish you luck!!

Lol you think so? So has zero to do with private equity firms buying homes by the thousands? Then upping the rent on those homes by up to 50 percent?

@eralpatky
It's always the MFs who have never had to do a single hard day's work in their whole lives who are the first to attack the working class.
@just1_mo
@allisonsherry
Nahh, can't let you get away with that dig disguised as a semi complement. MANY cops think as I do. We see police work as a calling, and conduct ourselves with the utmost in professionalism, temperance, tolerance and patience. While treating people with dignity and compassion.
