We saw this in Central Arizona. The dwellings we call Casa Grande ruins were once surrounded by mesquite forest, or bosque. Groundwater pumping dropped the water table below the roots, and the trees died. Now it is scrubland, and no one remembers the trees.

Once gone, no one will know trees were historically a part of the ecosystem.

If frogs’ good looks are not enough for you to care about their welfare, perhaps learning how they contribute to the environment or human health will pique your interest.
Holy shit guys not only were they theoretically able to help frogs recover from Chytrid by providing a gentle hot spot, but they found that the frogs recovered thru heat were potentially resistant to future infections

IIRC capitol police stopped Terry Goddard from using a legally purchased assault rifle as a prop for a speech on capitol grounds back in the 90s. I guess it's only illegal if you are arguing for gun control.

In 1959, police were called to a segregated library when a Black 9-year-old boy trying to check out books refused to leave, after being told the library was not for Black people.
The boy, Ronald McNair, went on to became an astronaut. The library is also now named after him.
