Why are prevention programs difficult to run in US? Reason 1 (of many): the narrative is “ticking bomb.” SOs are doomed to reoffend and so should be villainized.

Well said. We have to address the basic reasons WHY people are trafficked, before we can expect to make an impact on how they are trafficked.
This is what we mean w/evidence-based. Go where the evidence points, not emotions.
I may just be a simple country lawyer, but it seems like if we actually wanted to prevent sex trafficking, we need less money directed toward dramatic jungle rescues and more toward ... getting people healthcare and housing.

This is bad news. States are now moving to defund entire institutes who do sex research based on lies and misinformation. If it can happen to Kinsey, it can -and will- happen to us.

Can’t stress this enough. We need to understand exactly what factors lead to problematic/offending behaviors-this means ALL factors. Not just sexual preferences. But in order to do this, researchers need funding.

Fantasy is an integral and healthy component to (sexual) wellbeing for the vast majority of us.
For a precious few, however, it can lead to more (dangerous) things.
It is for this reason that we should NOT ban fantasy engagement. Protecting children means protecting everyone.

Rhetorical question, but WHY must we wait until catastrophe to happen before we do the right thing?
I’m at a persistent loss to understand why it takes catastrophe to move people to care for each other.
Is caring for each other somehow not chic anymore?

Actually I have research planned this (year) that expressly includes anyone who is minor attracted. Gender open. So we are addressing it. But a big reason why women were excluded for so long is because we honestly didn’t know much about the topic. Changing it now!

It never ceases to amaze me how downright selfish and ignorant people can be. I teach about human sexuality (in a state that still allows it) and the looks/comments I get when I talk about the effects of Roe being overturned. You should not endure this. It’s atrocious.
