Pretty sure this is gonna be a losing bet. Not much going for the city aesthetically beyond no state tax. And Miami/Orlando will give you that. Hell, PHX has a flat tax if Ishbia hadn't pawned his grandma's TV for one more taste.
The meta issue is that the Mavs seem to be positioning themselves like one of the big city franchises, throwing its weight around like… LA. We’ll see if they can succeed in that posture.

@mr_resnick This is why I am more accepting of the extremist view on this. It's more honest, less bullshitty, less meek/shy. It lays its cards on the table. I respect it more, in a way, even as I'm horrified by it morally.

@mr_resnick Would be more compelled by this if we understood whether it was a best fit line (i.e. smoothed) and also if this was a time series. Does not seem unreasonable to me Israel would be an especially motivating factor for young people.

@mr_resnick Is the IRA killing people with billions of USD, materiel, and international organization shielding?

@mr_resnick I think it's entirely possible that lots of Trump voters already baseline disliked Jews, new protest voters are angry about Israel, and Israel's actions *also* put off additional Trump voters. Trump is permitted that type of incoherent leeway.

@mr_resnick Fourfold is alarming, though doesn't seem impossible in a vacuum after the last year plus.

The reason given is always, we're not building the movement correctly. We're not explaining ourselves clearly enough. What if we're explaining ourselves all too clearly?
It is simply beyond the pale in the Jewish world to suggest antisemitism can have some proximate cause. You are immediately accused of legitimizing it. Surely, a spike in antisemitism did not arise ex nihilo, right? Otherwise, why assume existing strategies aren't working?

This is what happens when generations of diaspora Jews hold Zionism as the antisemitism litmus test. They completely lose sight of the real problem. And all of us are less safe because of their moral midgetry and abject failures.

"Some alliances aren't worth maintaining." But others are, right? Like the groyper MAGAs, right?
"Our coalition partners betrayed us." You mean people on the left who wanted to stop Israel from perpetrating a mass killing and saw most Jews back that mass killing to the hilt? Did they betray us or did we betray them?

"Antisemitism has surged in the past year." Omg, why could that be? It couldn't have anything to do with some major event of the past year, could it?
