Today, I reach the completion of an unexpected journey. Eight years have now passed since I was compelled to run for a seat in MO’s House of Representatives, and six years of service have come to an end. I’ve met amazing people; I’ve made close friends; I’ve fought important battles; and, I’ve learned unique lessons. To my constituents, I say thank you for the responsibility of serving you. To my family, I say thank you for your sacrifice. To God, I say thank you for Your grace and calling.

Hooah!
Last week, I met with the leadership of @westpoint_USMA, @navalacademy and @af_academy. My message was simple: stick to leadership, standards, excellence, war fighting, and readiness. These are MILITARY ACADEMIES, not civilian universities. I was impressed by the changes already underway and look forward to visiting each institution. Social Justice and DEI are OUT; History, Engineering, and War Studies are IN. We must restore the warrior ethos to the @deptofdefense — and it starts with our future leaders.

It’s enjoyable when you encounter a fellow bow-tie wearing pastor, who also serves as a legislator. So many similarities. Working with @ADF_Action puts me in contact with great legislators like @jdunwell!

This is why it was so important to file legislation to prohibit the use of ‘DEI Statements’ in hiring and promotion decisions. Diversity of thought and freedom of conscience are trampled when radical leftist ideology is ‘strongly encouraged.’ The fundamental concept of a university, and what makes for a quality liberal arts foundation, are lost as a result of such discriminatory vetting. Either you capitulate, or self censor, or you get passed over.
