I live Hartlepool. I live less then two miles from Murray Street where the mosque was attacked.
Hartlepool isn't known for its diversity. When I moved here four years ago it was actually one of the first things I noticed. In the last year we've had asylum seekers housed in
Food that's close to Use/Sell By Date on top of this metal box (holds morning papers) as he closes up so locals can help themselves
AND THIS IS THE PAYMENT they get.
I wouldn't even call these idiots EDL but thieving smackheads who need to look at what they're contributing to
Murray Street and surrounding streets are full of smackheads and ASBO neighbours from hell. Ask the shops on Murray Street how bad they get it from shoplifters, none of which are asylum seekers.
As for the mosque. They were providing free food during lockdown to all the local
Residents, knocking on doors & dropping off food. They STILL provide food for the local community and regularly those attending the mosque will bring food for the local food banks arriving in vans to deliver food, toiletries, nappies etc. One local shop (Muslim owned) will leave
Involved was the Syrian male who tried to stop him but got a slap for his effort. So to me they get a lot of respect as all I did was call the cops and stayed a safe distance.
As for the riot, I didn't even know about this riot until a friend on here made me aware of it.
The town. Mostly African but few Syrians also. The house opposite which had laid empty for the first two years I was here, all boarded up tiles falling off the roof when it was done up and a family moved in. Not one person on the street moaned about it, we were glad the house
Which was an eyesore and attracting thieves (stealing boilers is a thing around here, no idea why🙄). Nice family we always say good morning. Last week one neighbour (total c**t) was kicking his girlfriend in his head he's always slapping her about. The one neighbour who got
On the back he then shouts "my kids buggy is in the back"
"too late once it's on th back no access"
Bloke is kicking off as woman he slagged off rides past with huge smirk on her face, poetic justice
I've been naughty. An Audi untaxed has been parking on our street, exhaust & radio up full. Doesn't live on our street nor estate, parks here as his estate gets the DVLA van patrolling. Wasn't going to report it for no VED until Tuesday when he called a 'large" female cyclsist
Licence confiscated, lost his job and is being investigated on assault charges, the German authorities reacted quickly. The police here would still be debating about it and his firm would be "driver will be sent on a driver education course"
Was it worth when you're paid per hour
"a fat cow who should pay road tax" good point sir so I rang DVLA on Wednesday by Thursday it was clamped and just now been lifted by tow company. Man came running down street "can't take it" big recovery lad "yeah I can" driver started to moan about his human rights 😂car placed
@nuddypants
As well as tagging the organisers maybe tag in both the park authority and local council, maybe they'll think twice before letting the organisers having an event in their area, go down list of upcoming events and tag the councils there with images of the mess left behind
Here's a fact for you
1 million uninsured drivers on the road
850,000 unlicensed drivers on the road
1.75 million driving around on cloned plates
719,000 cars without VED
You reckon plod will be able to spare time to check cyclists?
@tzkobe78
@supertanskiii
It doesn't reflect in you. The same way when a Christian commits a crime it doesn't reflect on me. Sadly these individuals don't understand that. Please stay safe
Went to gym on the bike, parked it up, came out after session, bike gone. Blood started to boil then thought "where's the remains of the two d-locks"..then remembered there are two entrances and I came out the wrong one....bell end 😂😂
Well, that was shit. Walking back from mates house. Two lads, "got the time"
Nah no watch
"what about phone"
Nah left it at home, could tell when they started to circle what was coming next.
Would love to big myself up, but truth is didn't stand a chance, a flury of punches
@davidmbarnett
@SherlocksSpring
The same council that just a few days ago destroyed the Kittiwakes nests on a local bridge and putting anti-nesting measures in place.
A species in such a massive decline they're a red listed species in the UK, it's not a great deal to celebrate to be honest
@metpoliceuk
4 years fully justified however as we've seen recently plenty of motorists actually have killed pedestrians some given suspended sentences & some got about the same tarrif for this offence.
Is the judiciary system looking more favourably at offences if the victim are police?
I'm laughing went around to the shop. Owner of this car is a total 🔔🔚. Speeds around everywhere almost took me out on the zebra crossing a while BACK. Stereo blasting
Less speed and he could've brought some VED and he's tried taking it off which is an extra fine 🤣9th car now
Trying to get into pockets. Long & short got a broken left little finger and a cut on the left cheek. On the positive still got my phone thanks to dirver who stopped otherwise I'd be fucked & phoneless, got finger sorted at Stockton, back home 🙄
@MrDanielMilne
@NoContextBrits
So you're one of them motorists that moans about being held up by a cyclist but has plenty of time to pull over an argue about being held up, well that makes sense 🤔
@LancsRoadPolice
Tbh if they've been driving around since the 60's on a provisional, given all the ANPR and other checks available to the police you can't really shouldn't so proud to post about the stop. I'd be embarrassed that they got away with it for so long
I'm considering get a helmet cam for my truck, the sheer number of people I see when I look down typing away on their phone.
Even saw one lady ordering shit of Amazon as she drifted across the A1M.
Roads around Blackburn were flooded (see earlier tweet) even the motorway was
Something I've noticed today driving around doing deliveries, it's funny how many people CAN drive quite easily at 20mph when they have a police car behind them.
Imagine
@sussex_police
arresting a man who released a hare from a barbaric snare, listen to the screams from the hare, and then being arrested because you've allegedly "damaged" the snare and not the person who laid it in on what looks like a public footpath
She went off to get petrol, busy staring into space there was a knock on the truck door it was the old lady "wow you're high up there, I've brought you these as thank you" sandwiches, crisp, Belgium bun and a coffee
Absolutely made my day that did 😂☕👍
@timharvey7
Yeah nobody about except the "manned police camera" probably a speed van, come on Tim there's a time and place and public roads aren't it, sorry love motorsport but it fun should be on track not public highway, you didn't spot the officer or possibly van so what else did you miss
@BBCRadio2
Big mistake getting rid of Ken. His show is the only thing I tune in for on Radio 2 switching over as soon as Jeremy Whine comes on air
RIP
@BBCRadio2
30/9/67 - 17/1/23
Well the Audi being lifted tweet has thrown up a few interesting tweets.
The number of motorists that DON'T know anyone can check tax & mot status is shocking.
Even had one suggest "DVLA illicitly providing private information".
And we're shocked people don't know HC rules.
People bang on about the "evil"
#cyclelobby
but when you see tbe fuss kicked up in Wales and how the Tories are now doing/trying a no confidence vote on the Welsh Transport Minister (Tuesday) over a 20mph you realise the real "evil" lobby is that of the
#speedophiles
@IoloWilliams2
@SussexUni
I prefer this approach last year (being repeated this year) at a chemical complex I deliver to.
I'll be honest it was very impressive (sign says "pardon the weeds we're feeding the bees")
@Taj_Ali1
That mosque cooks over 200+ meals EVERYDAY for our local food banks. During lockdown they popped over to my house and delivered a curry and other bits and bobs didn't need it so pointed out a house that would need it. They even wrecked a local butchers shop. 40 years trading gone
Ages ago someone on here and I can't for the life of me remember who exactly asked if the "speed camera nest box" was still up.
Cycled past it today in Billingham, yes it's still up 🤣
@grantshapps
Grant for what purpose?
Last month alone there were three cases were motorists have killed pedestrians on the footpath and the motorist has walked free from court with suspended sentences.
12 points once upon a time meant a ban, but now there are motorist with in some cases 1of2
Today's highlight. Sat at a service station for a tachobreak had to park up near to the air machine. Old lady parks up rear tyre completely flat. She walks over "can you help me inflate my tyre, of course I did. Hoping it wasn't punctured...it was. So did a tyre change for her
@mrdanwalker
@brucemillington
And there's the problem, you're not in that situation and aren't the one facing/making the decision or having to face to consequences.
Pretty easy to judge and pass opinion from behind the sofa
I really wish when I'm trying to get to my first delivery the slow car infront would pull into one of the laybys and let us all pass.
I'm in a bigger vehicle and my journey is more important, just move over
Afterall it's what other motorists expect cyclists to do
DVLA have been out and about on the estate, 4 cars booted with wheel clamps (no VED) and one van with trailer, booted the van, parked the trailers hitch at the front bumper of van and clamped the trailer too, that's on an estate with 11 streets
Remember
#cyclist
should pay VED🤔
@BorderlineBBS
Definitely no better demonstrated then when we were in lockdown. They even delivered a curry and some other goods to my house but turned it down as I didn't need the help and pointed them to house that would need it
@MarcherReborn
@TeamGB
Well you get out there and show the rest of us how it's done then , until they have an Olympic event for Keyboard Warriors I don't think you're a contender tbh
This is Jimmy one of my adopted greyhounds (RIP) . He once ripped up an entire carpet, destroyed a leather sofa, open the fridge and ate everything & grabbed an entire roast chicken off the counter, yet I never would have taken him back to the shelter unlike
#LillyAllen
& her dog
It feels me with confidence to know I'm sharing the roads with someone who has taken 9 years and 11 tests to pass their driving test. At what point do we say driving isn't for you instead of making a TV programme about them.
Hearing
#GrahamThorpe
had took his life by being hit by a train is too tragic. But at the same time I can't help thinking of the driver too. Many suffer depression & ptsd after such events
@DPJHodges
Well if the govt are being charged £600 a night they're either gullible idiots being ripped off or the hotel chains are party donors, which one is it Dan?
The cheapest room in the Savoy is £570 and is a bit better than a Travelodge/Best Western etc
@DurhamPolice
The number of hgv and car drivers I see fiddling or talking on their phone when I'm sat in my truck. Every roundabout or set of traffic lights out comes the phone.
We need tougher sentences, we get told phone usage is as dangerous as drink driving so make the sentences the same
Well think I will be using my 600 tweet allocation today.
Seemed to have upset people just because a) impressed with the speed in which the German authorities have reacted to a thug of a lorry driver b) I don't think using a 40t vehicle (or any vehicle as a weapon is ok
All these "I was born in the 70's/60's we had ice on our windows" etc, key question, do you still have no central heating today and would you be willing to give up your winter fuel allowance?
@rgoucher
The Muslim community here in Hartlepool is tiny but they contribute and help out the community much more arguably then the local council. Sad day.
Short ride along the sea front.. Saw a total of 8 different cars suited & booted in DVLA wheel clamps. Only used around here for drivers not paying their VED aka "Cyclist should pay road tax blah, blah, blah"
The irony kills me
That was a shit start to the day. Went down to take the dogs out this am. My old boy Jimmy had passed away during the night.
Had to go to vets before work.
Absolutely gutted but his time was coming he was 15 and hardly got up to walk and when he did it was a short walk.
Hey
@BBCNews
the care worker moaning about fuel prices and unable to do her job.
Maybe just maybe she shouldn't have got a Golf Gti, a sport hatchback ie like to drink petrol.
Maybe a more fuel efficenct car would've been better if you're driving in URBAN areas
@harrym_vids
Sorry Harry, love Evo been reading it since the first issue, being from Northampton used to love driving past the old "Evo Towers" just to see what machinery was parked up, but you do realise the problem is traffic increase not cycle lanes, not 20mph zones nor LTN's.
@grantshapps
18+ points, the most I've seen was 24 points, why? Because they plead excepetional circumstances and keep their licence.
Toughen up on the ones without licences, no insurance, the drunk & drugged drivers. Toughen up penalties for motorists killing people, then look at cyclist
