Pelvic binders are not orthopaedic devices, they are haemostatic devices...the decision to remove them ... lies with those managing the shock the team leader and not Ortho. The configuration of the pelvic fracture .. totally irrelevant to whether it stays on or not. 1/2

Only 8% of Major Trauma patients received by a Trauma Team (TT)on arrival to hospital. This is challenging given that currently there is no accepted definition, no consensus on team set up or indeed when a TT should it be activated. This is being addressed; watch this space!!
