Why have NATO spent the last few years allowing Ukrainians to die. They are the pathetic ones. All the do gooders had to do was on board Ukraine and unilaterally stand up to Putin. They were too busy feeding lies to the public saying it was never going to happen. The people playing these games are the problem.

@mo_theurer @monochrome21966 @Haggis_UK Yes and over a million are dead playing power games funding Ukraine. The decades of western interference getting it here as well. If the end goal is NATO why haven’t the west just done it and forced his hand? They needed Ukraine to test the water first.

@mo_theurer @monochrome21966 @Haggis_UK As much as people criticise. It is war and it’s horrific. It’s mainly kept to a war that everyone can ‘accept’. If Putin starts turning cities to dust as the first mover he will lose support of key allies and his people. Doesn’t mean to say he wouldn’t do it in retaliation.

All everyone has ever had to do is just bring them into NATO. It’s not about backing them. They’ve been backed. They need western countries to directly go to war with Russia. Even without NATO. Western Europe are free to do that without the USA. Why hasn’t this happened do you think?

@popcrights @Haggis_UK Because you are bringing things to me that are fanciful hypotheticals such as Ukraine being in nato as a part of something Putin will stop and negotiate over. Taking the reason he’s in Ukraine out of the equation made the agreement to stop fighting 🤷🏻

@popcrights @Haggis_UK He doesn’t want a stand off with a major nuclear power that won’t back down on NATO and Ukraine. The USA had the same reaction in the Cuban missile crisis. If it is acceptable for Ukraine to go back to pre war not in NATO and get its territory back is that acceptable?

Well frame one then I’m sorry. It’s easy to counter a strategy without offering something. I do have the counter myself. Let Ukraine join NATO, and be prepared to uphold NATO and we directly go to war with Russia. That’s how it wins at strength. It’s not a half measure though and we will send troops to die

Ultimately as Trump doesn’t decide anything, he’s managed to bring the two together from where they both see a starting point. Personally I think without NATO Russia will cede on Ukraines territory as that’s what this is mainly over. The UK are angry at Trump for ceding NATO over everything else. The narrative at the start of the war from NATO is that Ukraine will never be NATO to the public. Although that was never true. This will always come back to that Zelensky does not have to agree to any single part of it. The US has made their position clear which they are entitled to do and allowed them to talk on that basis. The tangent everyone has gone on about not stopping the war is how do you frame a UKraine win otherwise? How do you get putin to the table? Do you carry on fighting?
