@GemLeighton Gemma, show Edie this picture by the French artist, Raoul Dufy, and please tell her that her painting reminded me of his pictures. I would get Edie's picture made into a card or canvas print, or both, on Snapfish, and hang it in the house.

I will never forgive @Conservatives for taking us from the joy, pride & unity of the 2012 Olympics, when we showcased the best of Britain to the world, to the corrupted, fractured shambles of Brexit. As an example of how far a nation can fall in 7 years, it'll take some beating.

President Zelenskyy and Andriy Yermak meeting Donald Trump. No flag, they weren't even given a glass of water. Their faces say everything.
If you are an American voter who cares about Ukraine, these are the only two pictures you need to look at. Which of these two presidential candidates looks like they care more about helping Ukraine?

@danielmgmoylan Family comes first. Absolutely. Because healthcare, education, social care, emergency services, refuse collection, libraries, parks and recreation, public transport and decent roads are all vital to ensuring families can grow and thrive. I wonder what pays for all that.

@JoePorterUK @BorisJohnson So, let's see. Back in March 2020, Jacinda Ardern, NZ PM, said they had never, ever considered herd immunity as a strategy in NZ because it would have led to "tens of thousands of New Zealanders dying and I simply could not tolerate that". Everything possible? No, sorry.

I don't need to be paid by anyone, or told by anyone, that doing this to another country is WRONG. I know it is. I don't need to be paid to say that YES, the civilised world should support, to the hilt, those fighting such tyranny, & back our words with deeds. Find a spine, Mike.
Gotta hand it to the “NAFO fellas,” who can apparently “ruin” any online poll about whether Congress should blindly comply with the Pentagon’s request for an additional $100 BILLION for Ukraine. Remind me, how exactly is NAFO funded? #NothingSketchyHere.

Zelenskyy is brilliant. No mucking around. Sanctions on Georgian Dream, now this. Humanitarian aid to stabilise newly free Syria. Prevention of further russian attempts to exploit division & hunger. He gets it. He gets on with it. Ukraine taking the lead, doing what’s needed.
Today, following reports from our government officials, we agreed on actions regarding Syria—primarily humanitarian and security efforts aimed at stabilization. For Ukraine, this is important: the calmer the situation in such regions, the more actively the world can help us.

@Daily_Express What makes Brits in Spain different from EU citizens who were told they had to apply to live here & who were vilified by your paper? What makes those who voted Leave think they were immune from the consequences? They used free movement rights to settle there then voted them away.

@lia_nici @JamesSunderl @BBCBreakfast @BBCNews @Ofcom @bbcpress You campaigned on "get Brexit done". It REMOVES our right to free movement. Too many people bought the lie that EU citizens were stealing their jobs. Why should I "move to another country"? I liked the one I was born in before this govt decided to redefine patriotism as jingoism.

@Daily_Express And they are NOT "expats". They don't have some special status because they're British. It's about time your paper took some responsibility for selling Brexit to your readers as consequence-free. Leave voters voted to remove the option of "the dream" for the rest of us.

@Jeremy_Hunt Not only have they got it very, very, wrong, it is horribly spiteful and misogynist. The inference that she should not speak out about something which has affected her and her family uniquely. No one has a right to dictate how she "should" behave and what she "should" say.

Zelenskyy clearly found this evening’s address very difficult. It must hurt like hell knowing you’ve been asking for 750 days for adequate protection against terrorist attacks, and still don’t have it. And that some are focused on saving their careers, not saving lives.
Rescue operations in Odesa are still ongoing following another Russian missile strike. A very heinous strike by these bastards. Two missiles were fired, with the second hitting rescuers and medics who had arrived at the scene of the first strike. Emergency medics and State

@RobertJenrick @mhclg To me, having free movement was a symbol of liberty. So is the right to protest. The government you serve is taking our freedoms away, whilst simultaneously trying to gaslight us into thinking that symbolism is all that matters. A cheap Trump trick. A lot of us aren't fooled.

@jessphillips I struggle with this, Jess. Brexit is a done thing and yes, we have to work with it because there is no alternative. But in order to achieve the result, the supporters of Brexit lied to the electorate, and actively fomented the very division we now see. That's hard to forgive.
