@18_kattar @sketch_29695 the type of HSR we're building (shinkansen style) literally has the smallest curve radii of all shinkansen types in the world of 2500m (4000m at MPS) kidhar se aise youtubers aa jaate hai yaar ๐คฃ

@NM_Transit_ the main reason why roro is better to alibaug is because seafloor depth again the depth there is over 50-60m and since any such rail/road route will open up near gateway it will have to be a tunnel the tunnel might end up being 70-80m deep because you have to leave a margin

@NM_Transit_ depth is one issue monsoon season is another it's why state run ferry ops don't work in MMR and private ones barely make do by being frugal and finding alternate income means instead

@NM_Transit_ aah it's water taxies not ferries cause i clearly remember ferries required a ramp and larger space, especially the kind of passenger + vehicular ferries CIDCO was planning then the one on the left was U/C but nearing completion in 2021 or 2022 iirc

@Amey_Kulkarni05 somehow they also present a united front on improving public transport that would make most south asian cities envious i wouldn't praise them if I didn't see potential just a little bit more push and I might actually be able to be bullish on any city other than mumbai for once๐

@MindBoggling agreed but the fact that high =/= high patronage also needs to be taken seriously IR babus need to understand concepts like conurbations and value of time more when creating plans like these

@GkbDarkKnight any proposed BOM-BLR line will have to pass via pune anyway, boring two separate tunnels through the 1000+ m tall sahyadri mountains to connect BOM with HYD and BLR separately is anyways infeasible

@phxav77W not everywhere fares in Mumbai are the same they used to be the differences in fares between MMRC, MMRDA and Reliance is due to different owner operators, with time that kink will also be smoothened out already NCMC cards and combined ticketing/pass is a step in that direction

@Dhruvnk22 my little ode of respect to you guys you've proven you can be as transit oriented as Mumbai or Kolkata if you're government was setting up to fail you hats off ๐ซก๐โโ๏ธ don't give up, we all are with you! keep fighting the good fight!!
I'm sorry I underestimated your game BLReans You may not have the modal share of even Delhi, let alone Kolkata or Mumbai But your passion to push aside all things set up to fail PT and still use it in high volumes proves you're as transit oriented as BOM, CCU or MAA take a bow!๐โโ๏ธ

@RishiJoeSanu Chennai-Blr-Mys HSR was proposed to be extended to TVM via Kochi through the palakkad even before and it's still on the cards even now (diamond quadrilaters and and diagonals plan) it would be easier to make it a reality had silver line not thrown a spanner into the works

@MindBoggling I linked the aviainsights article for this reason only basically something similar to what logic was applied for COK-LGW route is being applied here high estimated load factors will make up for lack of a larger share of high time valuing demographic which doesn't make any sense
