We have spent decades enshrining rights for women in legislation-surely we can extend those rights without undermining the status of women :-

I’m absolutely shocked & saddened to hear that a Garda has died in the line of duty in Castlerea. This is devastating news for his family, the dedicated team of Gardai in Castlerea & the community. Our thoughts & prayers are with his family at this time.
Next Friday 136 frontline healthcare staff will have supports cut despite suffering
#longCOVID
for 20 months! They're abandoned with 100's of other frontline workers who never received any occupational support as a result of contracting long COVID at work
@LCAIreland
Workers with
#longCOVID
who risked their lives & that of their families to provide vital services during the pandemic are being abandoned without supports - we need action now!
To those of you on zoom calls with me today, can I just apologise if I seemed a bit distracted. These were the banners that I was putting up with from behind the camera.....
Very pleased to see new rules coming from
@EU_Commission
on tackling single use plastics particularly straws & cutlery. I've been pressing
@EU_Commission
to change the current laws so I can deal with single use plastics without being in breach of EU laws

Significant conversation happening today..Ireland’s first National Dialogue on Climate Action! Really looking forward to it

it’s about communities coming together for climate action..
This afternoon I questioned the Tánaiste
@MichealMartinTD
on the actions by government to designate
#longCOVID
as an occupational illness & to properly resource long COVID clinics nationwide
It's estimated that 114,500 people have
#LongCovid
in Ireland - we need care pathways now as this could be a sleeping health crisis that may overwhelm already horrendous hospital waiting lists.
Why are non-healthcare frontline workers with
#longCOVID
being ignored, along with all healthcare staff who contracted COVID over the last 730 days? Treat all long COVID workers fairly by extending the Occupational Illness Scheme!

World leaders, policymakers, private sector are hailing Ireland’s action on climate change as strong - our €500m Climate Action Fund, our Fossil Fuel Divestment Bill, our Energy Efficiency Programmes & much more. I’ve been meeting several of them
@GCAS2018

I am working on bringing this proposal to Government as soon as possible. There should be no single-use plastics in State owned public buildings and offices.
Government has approved €111,500 for the Dermot Earley Centre of Excellence which will provide training & development facilities for 9,750 players from 32 clubs & will also be a resource for the wider community, offering walking/running paths and facilities for community events

The new sex offenders law only requires the offender to present at ANY garda station rather than the local garda station-So an offender living in rural Mayo can present in Wexford Town, But's the Garda in Castlebar who will be responsible for monitoring the sex offender!

In 1847, 38,500 Irish emigrants arrived here on the shores of Lake Ontario on Eireann Quay in Toronto. Today stands Ireland Park a memorial to those men, women and children. The city welcomed the Irish emigrants with open arms, as it continues to do today.
