Martin Luther ridiculed that 1524 Pisces conjunction because (from his view) nothing happened. Cue the Reformation, collapse of governments, wars, kings getting detached from their heads... Big astro-events bring far-reaching changes: close-up perspectives don't always work best.

Astrologers are essentially diviners, we are all *reading signs*. Our role is to be light-bearers, to illuminate, to bring someone closer to a truth. Sometimes prediction or foresight is a key, but sometimes the key is reflection, or evaluation of where someone stands in the now.

A diagram I made to illustrate Manilius Astronomica 1.560-685. His first book (per Geminos & others) is mainly concerned with locating the visible constellations plus these 5 parallel circles and the two colures, so the zodiac can be properly aligned to the equinoxes & solstices.

For the record, I've never tried to suggest which house system is best. Nope. I always have and always will argue that the use of houses is tremendously important in astrology, and the houses are not the same as the signs. If that's a bad look, oh well ... it goes with the book:

Many astrologers place too much emphasis on dignities when doing elections; e.g: trying to avoid Venus in Aries, even if it perfectly aspects a natal Jupiter in Sag. After Venus moves to Taurus yes IT gains dignity, but its prospect of supporting the natal promise may be lost.

Things look *very* rosy for Gavin Newsom this year. Election day brings huge career focus: Jupiter will be at 20 Gem, bang on his MC, lined up with Venus (22 Sag) on his IC, + good contacts with his Sun. And Jupiter is stationed on the degree of his MC in this year's solar return

The house system called the 'common' or 'standard' one in ancient texts is Alcabitius, after the Latin name of the 10th-cent astrologer Al-Qabisi. Its described in detail in a chart from Rhetorius dated to 428. JD North explains the key to its calculation was known to Babylonians

Gold bull’s head, from a royal grave, Ur, about 4500 ago, when the vernal equinox fell in Taurus & bull/solar symbolism were entwined. Penn museum: “ ...detail in the bull’s eyes, snout, & the curls of its beard, which represents the power of the king as well as the god Shamash.”

The Queen is a remarkable woman who deserves the imminent celebrations of her reign. I hope no one (media/members of her family) gives her more cause for stress as her upcoming transits show a lot of strain for a woman of her age to bear. Worst of it should be manifest by August.

May day honours Beltaine: mid-point between the equinox & summer solstice. Most fertile season of the year, the Romans dedicated it to Flores, goddess of flowers, abundance, bird-song & spring. This year's Venus-Jupiter conjunction makes it extra special. Blessed Beltaine all💕

Mercury stations on the square of Saturn and the world holds its breath, waiting for news. The suspense is already killing me.

Those who say today is the 1st day of Northern Hemisphere spring are wrong. I don’t care who says this: they are wrong. Spring begins when the Sun hits the Vernal Equinox, enters the zodiac sign Aries & begins a new annual cycle: which is when day begins to get longer than night

Johannes de Monte Regio– According to the Oxford University History of Science Museum, the human face shown inside the Moon in this 1482 lunar volvelle is "an authentic contemporary portrait of Regiomontanus, who had recently died at the early age of 40".

Spring forward; fall back (again). Is there one good reason why we mess with the clocks every year, so noon stops being noon in summer? What a fallacy to think that resetting clocks makes the period of daylight longer 😕

Wonderful Branka: horary astrologer extraordinaire - fighting for pension rights whilst standing for presidency in Serbia. All her astro-friends know how she mixes passion & compassion in equal measure and never suffers fools. Hope the stars beam fondly on all her *elections* 😉

Пензије су имовина. Ако некоме узмете и један једини динар од пензије, ви сте му га отели и не постоји други начин да се то каже. Све што је ОТЕТО мора да се врати.

The keyword for Mercury retrograde is BACKUP. This Mercury is not just stationing - its turning and applying back to the opposition of Uranus. Don't even think about upgrading any IT lest you have backed up first. I tell you this because - this morning ... what did I do ???

Cazimi is a questionable "fortitude" at the best of times (very subtle work going on). Then add in Venus getting totally wiped out just as she loses her dignity and enters her sign of debility, and just as the Moon moves into the eclipse. 🫤 (My personal head is down)

NB: ‘Vettius Valens of Antioch’ ... the once great metropolitan city ... whose ruins lie near the modern city of Antakya in Turkey (‘Antakya’ is the Turkish variant of the Syrian Antiokia). Antakya has suffered devastating destruction. Let's do what we can, if we can.

Ancient astrologers found the asc by throwing a stick in the air & seeing where it landed (& I'm not saying there isn't any divinational value in that). It's an illustration that appeals to 'historical authority' can be very futile when talking about the value of astro-technique.

I've been impressed by many intelligent, informed examinations of astro technique discussing the US Presidential challenge. I hope this time we can be spared the ignominious self-crowning of astrologers who called the result correctly pouring scorn on those who did not.
