@shortteachergal I don't think anyone would argue that there is no benefit to memorization. But memorization of math facts is not all there is to understanding and being successful at math. All the adults around in in PD are teachers -- which is a small percentage of the population.

@T__Meikle hmmm.....maybe. certainly true of evaluation and grading. But I also think Assessment --eg. written feedback often happens after class, rather than with the students in real time.
