As a graduate of West Point and member of the Board of Visitors I know first-hand this story is "fake news"! Plan was proposed by Army/West Point leadership and @realDonaldTrump agreed to do! No one in Army or West Point leadership were "surprised" They were, and are, excited!.
President Trump's commencement address at West Point in June will bring back 1,000 cadets who are scattered across the country to help counter the coronavirus. It was news to many when he announced it โ including those at the academy.
