Why is President Trump's leadership on DEI so important? Because DEI impacts everyday Americans. Learn how @WILawLiberty's recent win for equality is helping smalltown businesses in Indiana, & taking on a massive federal affirmative action program. We're demanding Equality 4 All

We are having a debate perhaps for the first time (?) in Western history over whether the Executive has the power to *reduce* the power of the Executive and to *refuse* to spend money. In the past, that debate was the opposite. Is there a previous historical example?

Nice. Now settle the pending SFFA case against affirmative action.

Last week, I met with the leadership of @westpoint_USMA, @navalacademy and @af_academy. My message was simple: stick to leadership, standards, excellence, war fighting, and readiness. These are MILITARY ACADEMIES, not civilian universities. I was impressed by the changes already underway and look forward to visiting each institution. Social Justice and DEI are OUT; History, Engineering, and War Studies are IN. We must restore the warrior ethos to the @deptofdefense — and it starts with our future leaders.

The interesting thing about this is that there's no law, either federal or state, that would prohibit someone from accessing information *because* they are a political appointee or elected official. That's not how it works. Categories of certain documents are restricted, like tax returns or concealed carry permits or top secret information, but not that categories of people are restricted from viewing them. For example, Governor Evers's appointees sit on the Wisconsin Homeland Security Council. That group has access to very sensitive information but the appointees are not prohibited from viewing the information because they are appointees. The issue is whether they have the appropriate clearance. Also the Attorney General maintains the concealed carry database. Can the Attorney General just go in and review all the permits? No. But it's not because he's an elected official, it's because of the statute. Same with tax returns. Same with Federal social security numbers in a federal database. It's not who's accessing them... it's what's their purpose and do they have a right to do it. I was a political appointee and could view all sorts of sensitive personal information because that was my job. Kind of like the DOGE employees or the Trump appointees.

Wisconsin state law requires the pledge every day. Many other states do too. Students have a constitutional right not to participate of course.

✍️My new piece @NRO. Although Trump is attacking DEI with vigor, it will take Congress to dismantle race-based programs permanently. Otherwise, they'll lie dormant until the next D president reactivates them. This has the added advantage of making Congress do their job!

"I don't care about the color of their skin...Do the job and get it done." Trump Envoy @RichardGrenell cowing FEMA & Army officials, pushing hard against race-based contracting. It hurts people who need help, slows work, & increases costs. It's gotta stop.
