Howard's Cōnǝn. Not de Camp's. Not Marvel's. Not film's. Born on a battlefield; parents weren't murdered; didn't grow up a slave; black hair; blue eyes.

@WizardGoesBoom There is no better or more divinitive version other than the three Del Rey trade size paperbacks. Well done.

@NuclearWinter69 It would be a rare table indeed for the rest of the players to have an interest in that kind of engagement. Not sure that's the best use of my time as a DM, either. Sounds more like a solo adventure.

@fabiaschi Many Howard fans don't understand the nuances of de Camp pastiche. They read the paperbacks BITD without realizing it wasn't even Howard. So for them, "...the illusion is real". Without your post, many would still not know its Epic, root provenance. Respect.

@NuclearWinter69 Thats a great bluebook entry (bluebook=between-games-diary). And a quick one-off line to say every game session. But I'm still not letting you role-play it at the table unless all the other players are also wanting you to.

@CEOofLinie @HorEmperor This is exactly the kind of thing a DM should simply "wisdom", decide on a target amount, and roll. For it all. The result will decide if they pay more or less and for what quality. Then move on to the next player.

@PresidentOfDCBP If all the players want to do that, I can give them a great session. But if 1 player wants to derail the session, that's a no-go for me. It's no different than 1 player wanting to split off from the party in a dungeon or the wilderness.

@WizardGoesBoom Respect. Give the mature teenaged ones The Deed of Paksenarrion to read; based on Moon's '70s D&D campaign. I caution teens because, during a court martial of the main character in the 1st few chapters, an offscreen sexual assault is revealed. It's dealt with in an LG way.

@LawDogStrikes Quick resolution, consequences, strong dab of humour... This post is exactly in the wheelhouse of my original quote-post. Respect.

@Devon_Eriksen_ Rarely have I read a more cogent explanation of the 3D chess developed over the last 3 decades to engineer the Critical Social Justice movement. Respect.

@D20Viktor No, I'm saying one player should not get to derail the wants of the rest of the players for an hour. If all the players agree to play tonk then that's what they should do.

@DugEnotsofresh @PaddyohCakes Muting works just fine for me, particularly now that Elon changed it so that said scumbags can still see your posts even if you block them.

@DFW_DM_Monty I get social interactions in a town, seeding adventure hooks, introducing npcs, etc. It's part of the game. But I'm not letting a shopping trip for one person take an hour of game time while 4 other players resort to gin-rummy to stay awake until they get to have a turn.

@ManFirestorm I understand politically motivated blocks. I'm not warm and fluffy towards the far left or far right. But when we have several accounts in common, don't have pronouns, and post stuff both the left and the right frown at, but still use a blocklist, it's weird. #Civilization
