Tweeting my comic collection and retweeting sweet comic art. Banner is Firestorm by Rafael Kayanan, avatar is Black Panther by Romita Jr, Janson and White
This was the first comic I ever read. Giant Sized X-Men 2, Roy Thomas, Neal Adams and Tom Palmer. This is what comic book perfection looks like. This issue is a master class in comic book art, pacing and style. Prepare to be amazed.

RIP Keith Giffen
There aren't many writer/artists in the business, Giffen was one of the very best
There aren't many artists that take chances with their art, Giffen was an alchemist and a chameleon.
There aren't many people that can make you laugh, Giffen was joyful
OK, time to piss people off
There is a lot of noise about the Punisher going around, one of the problems with the “culture war” is that it destroys nuance. The Punisher is being discussed like he’s an alt-right power fantasy when that wasn’t the way he was written
Today is the birthday of my favorite comic artist, the mighty Jim Aparo. This is a mega-thread of his magnificent art, pencils, often inks and lettering too.
Always Aparo.
It’s my birthday today, so I’m sharing something special. NTT 13 was my first issue of the Titans, and the comic that got me into buying comics. This cover grabbed me and wouldn’t let me go.
Someone just dissed Mike Grell on my feed.
Instant block.
Grell is a legend, writer/artist, vastly creative and prolific. You may not like his work, but he’s a grand master of comic book creators.
Respect.
People like to dunk on him, but IMO McFarlane’s Spider-man and Hulk runs were stone cold classics. McFarlane has an exaggerated, cartoony style that rocks the page.
Walt Simonson doesn’t get anywhere near enough recognition for his brilliant visual imagination. Real Masters are always experimenting and growing. What a badass.
John Byrne Fantastic Four- continuing my read through this classic run, I’ve hit the issues right before those I read as a kid. It’s trippy to complete a story that you started decades ago.
Romita for the win. Everything about this is perfection. Romita had such an economy of line, he did so much with so little it’s like sorcery. He drew the sexiest MJ bar none, and IMO the definitive PP.
In addition to being a talented artist, Byrne experimented. The horizontal FF issue, the whited out Alpha Flight issue, and this strange little tale, all told in splash pages.
For the indeterminate future, every day I will be Tweeting out a panel, panels, page, pages or cover by the mighty George Perez. Let’s celebrate this wonderful man and his mind-blowing art.
#theDailyPerez
Some days I just need Perez.
Perez with Ordway and Giordano?
C’mon.
Bought this off the shelf when I was young and didn’t realize death never matters in comics, so it hit hard.
I keep a few classics on the bed stand for regular rereading. This is one. The definitive Logan story, before the chaotic mess of false memories and other nonsense that complicated things immensely. Gorgeous art with Rubenstein and Wein.
People talking smack about Walt Simonson.
Sit you ass down.
Simonson is a grand master and one of the greatest artists to ever grace the page.
The audacity.
#WaltSimonsonRules
Simonson X-factor, the Simonsons are comic book royalty and one of the greatest writer artist pairings around. Simonson Cyclops was visually impressive. This run of covers was pure fire 🔥
Found this at a used bookstore today, had to pick it up. Byrne’s Superman was a glorious thing to behold. IIRC he depowered Supes a bit for his run, it made for fun stories
I know everyone likes to dump on the Marvel movies, but this movie was dynamite, and this scene was iconic.
I could see this in a Cap comic, and that shield flip when he finishes in the elevator is pure badassery.
Dave Cockrum rules. Honestly, he drew one of the best Wolverines around. Body language, stature, and Cockrum got Logan’s height. Cockrum, like Romita Sr, is a master of minimal linework.
Badass
46 years of reading comics, I have yet to find an Alan Davis comic I haven’t liked, he’s that good. Davis’ work is stylish, sexy and always fun. Giving him a run on Batman may have seemed a bad fit, but Davis owned it, as always
A reminder that Miller, at the top of his game, was untouchable. Bold, experimental and uncompromising. There are other great works of his, but aesthetically, inking himself here, is just gorgeous and my favorite work of his.
Someone recently claimed to be the "best Wolverine Artist"
You be the judge, here are some of the competitors
Adam Kubert
Alan Davis
Art Adams
Barry Windsor Smith
Mazzucchelli is noted for his interiors, but he drew some bangin covers too. These two standalone stories are two of my all time favorites, this whole run was next level good. ONeil and Miller on writing chores. Pure gold
