Gaeilgeoir agus Sinn Féin elected Dakota Níc Mheanman has just been elected via transfers of The Irish Patriot, Béarla amháin, Niall McConnell.
He is reportedly fuming.

Going to see the Wolfe tones tomorrow. When they played in LK in the 90s a row broke out between them and Republicans when they wanted the raffle money on top of the door money. They were quickly told to f*ck off and that they were making their money off the back of the struggle.

Ar an drochuair níl mé ábalta an sliocht seo a léamh mar níl mé chun íoc aon airgid chuig an páipéar bolscaireacht seo. Ach vótáil tá gach duine eile.
I'll be collating the tally sheets tomorrow for Donegal's local election. Not a professional or even an amateur but will do my best to provide an update here for anyone who is interested.
#LE24
No sign of Siol na hÉireann's Niall McConnell yet but he has a lad here keeping an eye on the projector for him but he genuinely seems to struggle reading the info. (I won't be helping him) He'll be waiting a while as stranorlar is the last area to be counted.
My mother's aunt. 87 years of age. Had to wait 17 hours in Altnagalven hospital. She instilled a love of literature in my own mother that was passed down to us.
Badly let down by the state.
@dglred
That's me for today. Hope this rambling thread was of interest to someone.
My analysis is MICA did well and so did independents. SF likely to keep all 10 seats. Can't predict anything beyond that. Slán
@TrisBurnedLands
This is the second candidate I've seen with no real prospect of getting elected asking people to sign their nominations papers. If you can't get enough for nomination how do you ever expect to be elected or is this a joke on the West Belfast candidate and I just don't get it.
@MichealLehane
@rtenews
Only suitable to new builds and 60% of them are bought in bulk so no real impact for those actually looking to buy their first home.
Only a few boxes opened (11%) in Buncrana LEA but so far Sinn Féin's Jack Murray is doing well with currently 33% of the vote but Joy Beard of the Mica party performing strong on 20.3%

Rally weekend in Letterkenny.
Car Park in a field €10.
Admission Per Person to diffing venue €10.
€50000 made over 3 days by land owner who cost the state millions in illegal dumping at unauthorised site.
Consequences €0.
Had a Fine Gael canvassar call round. I told him I wouldn't be voting for his party because of the housing crisis. He spent 20 minutes still trying to get me to vote for his party at local level while lambasting his own party at government level. Interesting tactic.
Donegal LEA 1/4 done.
SF McMahon on 18.6%
FG Sweeney on 14.5%
FF Naughton on 11%
Ind Brogan doing well with 6.7% and 301 votes.
Niamh Kennedy on 7.1%

Buncrana finished as the final box wasn't counted. Both FF and SF sources say they didn't expect Mica to perform as well. They thought they'd be vying for 5th seat but they look set to take 2nd seat so far.

Just a quick recap for anyone not blessed to live in Donegal. There are 37 seats available and this is how the last election looked. Donegal was the only county to see an increase in Sinn Féin seats. Fine Gael won 6 seats but Frank McBrearty immediately quit the party afterwards.
Biggest shock of stranorlar is new entry Ind Scanlon who only announced his run a few weeks ago. Campaigned on forgotten region. He's on 13.6% with 1381 votes.
@ClarNiUigin
@ashstronge
Sinn Féin vote management system was clear on the posters as opposed to FF which wasn't clear and then FG were very late to the game with their candidate.
Mica info needed!
What percentage of Mica is okay to have in your house? Real Estate agent said 5% knocked off half price but that's all I really know.
Waiting to hear back on our results. Do the houses that are crumbling have much higher percentages?
@nigelkillian
What is the purpose of being a southern unionists? Do you hope for Irish unification under British rule or just advocate for the north to remain in UK in which there is zero impact upon you? Would you not prefer to unite with fellow unionists?
I see the Ireland is full crowd are endearing themselves with the population in the run up to local elections by plastering unsightly litter all over the town and on every lamppost.
Is it common practice when getting a new ensuite fitted that the workers expect you to clear out the old tiles and shower etc. Feel like I'm being totally taken advantage of.
Starting on Carndonagh LEA now.
18% votes counted.
FF McDermott on 27.5%
Mica Farren doing well on 25%
SF Albert Doherty on 17.3%
Big shock is GP candidate white on 0.7% but word going around is he never canvassed. Most people didn't know he was running. Paper candidate only.
@DerekHolly7
Tá job sar mhaith déanta agat. Níl sé éasca le bheith ag foghlaim nuair atá tú fásta. Go háirithe má tá ag dean é ar líne i do aonair! Tá Gaeilge níos fearr agat ná cuid is mó den tír.
Carndonagh LEA after 30% of all eligible voters counted
Half boxes are counted.
Mica on 26%
SF Doherty on 15%
FF on 27%
It's a 3 seater.
Labour Farren on 12.8%. He pulls votes hugely in some places like 156 in greencastle and then 0 in Malin head.
@dglred
Stranorlar lea finished. Waiting for 1 box but no sign of it.
Ind Scanlon leading on 12.5%
FG Harley on 10.8%
McBrearty on 10. 7%
SF Doherty on 10.4%
FG Crawford on 8.9%
Ward on 7.8%
Tranfers crucial tomorrow.
Special proud moment today as my 19 month old daughter said "Isteach sa washing" when she wanted to put her spoon away.
Gaeilge más féidir, Béarla más ga
Question for parents!
If I wanted to send my child to a gaelscoil would Bus Éireann provide a bus if my daughter had to skip a local English only primary school?
@IrishTimesEdu_
If a student is struggling with a subject, sometimes they can be offered additional support. Perhaps the child should receive extra Irish classes to help him. Grinds may be an option as well.
If anyone knows who this driver was on the Letterkenny road in Derry yesterday, could you please tell him I had my 2 year old and 7 month old children in the car when he attempted this maneuver.
The boxes are massive and they're only being sorted into local and European at the moment so we're not expecting the sheets to be brought over for another hour or more.

Siol na hÉireann now have 3 People walking around aimlessly with zero idea of what's going on. Occasionally stopping to look at a tally sheet and then moving on.
Still no sign of An Ceannaire Niall McConnell. Lifford-Stranorlar counting hasn't started yet.
Carndonagh finished. Big winner is MICA candidate Ali Farren with 2223 votes.
2nd place is FF McDermott on 2050 and then SF and Labour going for 3rd and 4th seat.
I made a mistake early. Carn is a 4 seater and not a 3 seater.
