Throughout December of 2022, I was fighting for my life. I went blind in one eye on the 3rd of Dec. 2022 & on the 5th, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Today I stand here before you to share my story. It has been a long road to recovery but each day is better than the last.

My design career paid my rent, sponsored my brother through Law School, bought a MacBook Pro, an iPad + an Apple Watch and sponsored my wedding all in 2022.
My first one year as a designer I designed for free. The second year I made a total income less than 40k from design.
When I started designing, I had no idea designers could make (good) money. I was just sleeping and waking up on YouTube and - happy to be creating stuff. Wasn't until like 3 years after I knew there was money to be made.

Even student portfolios should have ‘original conceptual work’ even for known name brands, never copies or replicates. Those should only be for assignments or learning.

2 Days after the wedding with my wife, visited and this guy was shooting a video! Like you have a life threatening brain tumour that has already caused blindness in one eye and you're still shooting videos to educate africans on their health!
It was one of the most inspiring...

Imagine someone presenting a design to you in an interview that you personally worked on as his. A 3D design at that.
