The absence of these 2 in our midfield this season has been hugely felt. The key behind our form last season was high intensity pressing in the midfield to box teams in and disrupt their football.
To say Vieira needs upgrades to the midfield in January is a huge understatement..

Hurts to see Roy in this position, has saved the club from relegation on more than one occasion and he’ll be the first casualty for sure.
The issues are so much deeper than the manager but Roy will take the majority of it.

Not only is it weird, it’s misleading and infuriating for both the fans and the players…

Our whole system under PV was based off of pressing from the midfield with CG and Macca, high pressing, high intensity football when out of possession.
PV was sent into the next season without CG and with an ageing injury prone Macca….

Roy is not the main issue here. We can take this back to Vieira’s doomed season. Kouyate & Gallagher BOTH left. McArthur was injured all season. That’s 3 midfielders, all of which were regular starters. Up until January, only Doucouré was bought in to cope with the losses

Whilst Roy deserves a huge amount of flack for this, the medical team have blood on their hands too…
