My mum turned 90 today. She has been in hospital for 3 weeks (with bronchitis) and now in respite. My dad is 95 and also spent 3 weeks in hospital (with pneumonia) and he is in respite too. They were able to get together today to celebrate. 🥳

What do I feel on the last day of filming of Neighbours? Anger mostly. The nail went in the coffin on January 11, 2011 when Channel 10 moved it to Eleven (now 10 Peach). Slashed the audience overnight. Imagine if they had valued it like Seven does Home and Away.

So I’ve seen the premiere episode of @masterchefau 2020 and I reckon it is the best first episode in the show’s history. Gordon Ramsay is fantastic and some of the former contestants buckle under pressure. A must-watch.

Interesting stat from @karlkwin about @NeighboursTV in today’s Age. When it was on Ten’s main channel it averaged between 500,000 and 600,000 viewers per night. After the move to digital channel Eleven in 2011 it slumped to 254,000. How to kill a show. 🙄

The Project did even worse last night than it did a week ago. Just 225,000 viewers metro for the 7pm half-hour. The problem seems to be Sydney (dismal 39,000) which was way behind Melbourne (93,000) and even Adelaide (43,000).

Something is very wrong when Sunrise (277k) can do more between 7am and 9am or Nine’s afternoon news (301k) between 4pm and 5pm than The Project (182k and 250k) can do between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
