THREAD: OW2 transition, starting with the announcement until now will live on as one of the worst examples of mismanagement, botched communication, and terrible leadership in gaming history. I do not blame the devs working, nor is it fair to even blame the current leadership.

One of the sad things about the Rivals getting well-earned hype, is that Overwatch quietly released a really fun, uniquely challenging tank hero. Hazard's another W for the OW2 design team, and (f0r me) locks 2024 as the best hero release year in OW history.

shouldn't be a hot take, but role lock is as close to objectively good as an opinion can be. No role lock wasn't player "agency" for the vast majority of the playerbase- it was an abused format that made improving in ranked a chore, and was frequently used by tilted players to.

The new Flashpoint mode is SUPER risky with the current OW2 hero roster- the massive space in between points means some of the less mobile heroes are going to struggle. a LOT. Is this a bad thing? Well, maybe not, but the adjustment period for many players may be painful.

almost my entire friend group stopped playing overwatch in 2019. brig, moira, and the hanzo rework made me quit tank. GOATS meta retired more DPS players than valorant/apex combined. this was before the content drought. are people choosing to to not remember these things.
@Coach_Spilo Overwatch has been out for awhile now I swear back then when the game was considered good no one had an issue with it being the only game people played. Or never started this playing one game will not be fun. When the games at its best people will always find it fun to play.

6v6 SHOULD come back. While individual mechanics on DPS do shine brighter than ever, the cost of this is a lower skilled game that is just a deathmatch. Overwatch is supposedly a competitive game according to director takes, so making the game significantly easier doesn't make.

If you want your game to succeed, perfect balance/competitive integrity isn't really at that important initially- that's more what keeps people in the long-term. However it really feels like Marvel Rivals (with a few exceptions) has really failed to design a support/tank cast.

@Flats_OW 1. increase the skill floor on brain dead DPS heroes like Bastion/Reaper. 2. Tweak the tank passive to account for things like anti-nade, discord, DPS passive, and other debuffs. 3. Introduce counterplay to tanks that don't have CC counterplay (Doomfist/Ball). 4. Adjust tanks.
