Happy Mother’s Day to all of the uniform washing, picture taking, orange slicing, carpool driving baseball moms out there. Some of the greatest stewards of the game there are.
Happy April 8th. “Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.” And a happy anniversary to

To anyone I have played or coach with or against, Happy New Year. Never take another second on the field for granted, and best of luck to everyone with the 2021 season.

Miss this lineup. 10 men pulling on the same end of the rope. 25 more having their back one pitch at a time. Beautiful experience to be a part of.

Two more weekends with this group. Proud of the way all of these guys stayed the course through a crazy two years. This group of seniors has taught me more than they will ever know. Watching them navigate the past two seasons has been a blessing.

The death of National League Baseball (pitchers hitting, line up management, bunt/hit and run defense) has actually created a less interesting and entertaining postseason product.
Tim is the BEST. Always willing to share stories, legends, myths, and his overall passion for baseball. My coach, my teacher, but most importantly, my FRIEND. We love our “Little Timmy!”

I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. -Michael Jordan
Wil Jensen another great start tonight. 5 innings, just two hits allowed with no walks and 6 strikeouts, including the final three batters he faced. His already league leading ERA now goes to 2.54.

Over the next 11 years, Stengel would seldom write a line up without Yogi Berra in it saying, “I never play a game without my man...” Berra, an MVP Catcher would get starts in left, right, and at third and first, because it helped the ballclub.

Ironically, on a night when the Dodgers honored Gil Hodges, Buck Showalter did exactly what Gil did in game 3, 1969 NLCS. Hodges pulled Gary Gentry after a long foul ball by Rico Carty who was struck out by Nolan Ryan. Tonight, Holderman K’d Betts after long foul vs. Peterson.

Just a really well executed wheel and pick. Timing was good, runner expanded when the shortstop vacated and BOOM! Play catch and you’re out. Can’t run this everytime, but a very good wrinkle when an out is needed.
