What a joke. The NFL is supposed to keep the tunnel clear. Adams was emotional and had his eyes down when the cameraman crossed in front of him. The shove was simply a reaction. No malice. He apologized and I'm sure the guy is fine. Suspension and lawsuit? Overblown BS.
Only reason we aren't talking more about McDaniels getting canned is because Mark Davis won't eat his contract after 1 year, but I refuse to pile on and make Carr the scapegoat for this mess.
I'm fine with the
#Raiders
being open to upgrading Carr. This is how the
#Chiefs
got Mahomes. If you don't have a top 5 QB then you should be open. That doesn't mean you ditch Carr for old or worse QBs. You can be very happy with Carr and still be open to improving the position.
The
#Raiders
offensive drive stats remain super funky.
#CarrsFault
1st in scoring percentage

32nd in number of drives (even factoring in games played)
I tried to have patience and I understand how important stability is, but I'm done with McDaniels. That was awful. If getting down by 16 to one of the worst teams in the league at home isn't enough of an embarrassment, he sealed it with 5 abominable decisions in a row.
Tiger and Phil should break all kinds of golf's rules in their match. Talk smack. Walk over each other's putting lines. Be shadow monsters. Give each other unsolicited advice. Talk to the other guy's shot in the air.
Carr didn't play well this year. I don't agree with moving on, but I understand it at the same time. This just isn't how you do it for the face of your franchise for 9 years. If Mark stepped in and made the decision, he should have been at the podium today.
Antonio Brown had $30 million reasons to act professionally. He didn't and if he was surprised the
#Raiders
voided his guarantees then Drew Rosenhaus is the worst agent ever.
Champ Kelly should be a GM already, honestly. Has a track record of success & universally loved as a person. A scouting department is more than the sum of one person, but both the Broncos and the Bears improved their talent level during his tenure. Big get for
#Raiders
.
You mean Gruden doesn't trust the twin brother of the former GM he fired or the college scouting director that worked with that GM for 15 years? No way.
McDaniels was given the keys to a playoff team. Decided to run it back with key personnel while gutting the rest. He flopped. Then he got his guys. Flopped harder. This after flopping as Broncos coach. You don't get four chances in this league.
I'm still trying to process the Raiders season, but as I do, I keep coming back to how badly Ziegler and McDaniels misjudged players and the roster, and then how badly the coaches managed games on top of that.
Michael Lombardi was fired by Al Davis. His son, Mick Lombardi, was fired by Mark Davis. Bad history with the Raiders. Both also fully deserved to be fired.
Saying Pierce doesn't know the Raider way is the joke. Not Pierce.
I also want to know what Mark Davis is thinking. He certainly hired McDaniels to win and that requires maximizing Carr, but instead he has the worst year of his career other than his rookie year and the team blows a billion leads. That's not fantastic.
The Tuck Rule game screwed up the football universe and to fix it, the
#Raiders
will have to go back in time to correct their mistake. That's why they hired Jon Gruden.
A former Jacksonville Jaguars employee is accused of stealing more than $22 million from the franchise from 2018-2023 by exploiting the organization's virtual credit card program.

The Raiders could not run the ball last year. I think it's clear they expected more from the OL for the cost and that Jacobs was banged up. People act like it's a hard cap and you have to sign biggest needs first. Not true. Still defensive players out there and can make room.
I said when Gruden got the job that I was confident the team would be better coached, but I was worried about Gruden making personnel decisions. Now I'm worried about both. It's a long season and feeling longer and longer by the week.
Sounds to me like the Raiders have the best offer in for Antonio Brown and the Steelers are just calling around to see if they can get better offers. Hopefully the Raiders just have the 35th pick on the line.
Whatever you think of McKenzie, he brought the
#Raiders
scouting department up to league standards, fixed the cap, found a QB and his other picks turned into 3 additional 1st round picks for Gruden.
Titans fired Mularkey so they could chase McDaniels. Do you suppose
@ProFootballTalk
will fire up the fax machine at the unofficial Rooney Rule compliance office?
After watching the Raiders squeeze the Chiefs throats and the Ravens hit basketball on grass 49ers in the mouth, there's something to be said for physicality still mattering in the NFL today.
Said it 1001 times during Carr era. If you have a competent QB, you don't move on until you have the replacement in the building. Don't convince yourself to make a change before that or just to have change.

Never forget that the
#Raiders
started 2-0 last year and won first home game 45-20 and finished 6-10. It's ugly, yes, but it's one game. Rams are good.
So if I recall the
#Raiders
kicked the
#Chiefs
in the mouth on Christmas. Have played them close in majority of recent games. If they find a QB and an offense, AFC West instantly becomes the most interesting in football. Convince me otherwise.
My beautiful wife and I are expecting a baby boy this spring. I'll have him running the entire route tree by training camp. My 3 daughters are excellent teachers.
The sad reality here is this is exactly what you would expect to see when you have an elite offense and a terrible defense.
Defense:
23rd in scoring percentage
31st in time/drive
30th in pts/drive
30th in plays/drive
28th in yds/drive
27th in avg drive start
29th in turnover %
#Raiders
in good cap position, primed for solid draft position and will get their 1st and 2nd rounder from this year back next season. It's not as dire as it looks right now.
1. Sign a bunch of guys over 30.
2. Trade down and draft a developmental left tackle.
3. Use extra 3rd from trade for Martavis Bryant.
4. Trade Khalil Mack
5. Trade for AJ McCarron
6. Release Bryant
7. Invest in new startup that charges a monthly subscription for consoling fans?
The last 2 minutes are why the
#Raiders
are 8-7 and not 10-5 or even 11-4.
Fumble costs you a 1st inside 10.
False Start on 3rd and 1.
Sack on 3rd and 6.
Kick out of bounds.
D gives up the TD.
The NFL just needs to admit allowing pass interference challenges were a terrible idea and change the rule. All this is doing is suggesting NFL can and will manipulate game outcomes with this rule. Change the rule.
Antonio Pierce and Patrick Graham have combined to get the Raiders D playing inspired, intelligent, and fundamentally sound defensive football. Offense needs a lot of work.
I give a lot of credit to the
#Raiders
for not absolutely blasting Brown on his way out. Wouldn't have blamed them if they did. Surely a lot of people are pissed.
Missed the late game, but seeing the
#Eagles
were able to slow down $20M+/year Khalil Mack because they have two stud offensive tackles. Maybe that's why Gruden traded Mack and drafted an offensive tackle? That's the best argument for the deal.
I recall the pre Carr Era too well. That was QB wasteland. Carr was 9th in ANY/A coming into the day. He's not perfect, but give the man some credit. It's not like he had all kinds of offensive weapons. It was Waller and rookie Renfrow with a bad defense.
I've gone as far as saying Mark Davis should sell the
#Raiders
. I still believe that's a defensible position given the team's lack of on-field success and the messy business side. However, I'm going to walk that back, at least a little bit, and here's why: 🧵
