Nope. He's already behind the ball with payments like that. Plus insurance, plus gas, plus maintenance and repairs. Tell him you will give him the 08, and he can start by paying the insurance, and everything else. He has to prove himself first.

A young trucker has shown up at TQL headquarters, in person this morning to speak to him about them not paying him. They owe him over 8 grand. He drove his truck and trailer right to their front door. Now how much more do you people need to understand trucker's are NOT being paid

The proposal to increase insurance premiums for the trucker's will not make anything safer. Premiums increase every single year all across the nation, yet we are continuing to see increased accidents and fatalities. Your solution is not addressing the causations! Address that!
Today's FMCSA hearing, proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that those with little to no experience have no earthly idea how the trucking industry works. The main purpose in requesting the hours of service change, is to allow drivers to rest when they need it. Not 2 extend the day

1st, it's contradictory in nature.
Prong C states, similar in nature.
Whereas prong B states, must not be same work.
2nd it declares war on legitimate contract workers. Truckers who are lease purchase, and otherwise work along with one company. That's Biz2Biz.
Covid supply shortages will be nothing to reclassification of lease truckers. Think this was hard? All states, not just Cali. Who needs a trucker strike, when you have the democrats and unions forcing reclassification of trucking jobs.

Folks comparing trucking business models to model X, don't know the business. Chamber of commerce wouldn't allow us to be in business, if it wasn't viable. How we choose to run and operate, within safety regulations and compliance, is our choice. I have lots of freedoms.

Lack of truck parking isn't something most Americans think about often, but its a major safety and quality of life issue for truck drivers along our highways.
Too many truckers hate state on OOIDA, while failing to realize their publications keep the nation's truckers and drivers informed. Without the slide towards ATA.

1)More misinformation, & bad directions about this Pro Act. Please do your research on this. Wage theft is one thing. Forcing unions on what is free market labor is not a good thing. Forcing business owners to become union members is not a good thing. Force? NO!! CA fallout now!!
Since apparently I'm still not getting through to some folks, let's try this another way. A regular work week is 40 hours. A trucker work week is 8 days. And 70 hours. Even more if you are considered exempt status. And yet somehow drivers struggle? The issue is the pay.

1)There are lots of jobs, both employee and contractors all across the USA today. To try to jamb anyone up in what is a 1930's era job classification, based on the premise of not using the current legal system, current G tools already in place is simply ridiculous.

That's not a day rate. That is lowball rate. Nobody is figuring costs properly running at those rates per day. For those rates, better to ditch sell out and go company driver. Honestly. Day rates back decades ago paid better. This is horrible.

There is a lot of misinformation concerning truckers and the Pro Act. I want to say to be very careful, to those spreading that. If this goes through, people may lose jobs, businesses, and more. They may find you culpable.

There is a problem, but UNION is not the solution. Truckers are very concerned, especially those who face forced unionization. They KNOW their pay will drop, and the they must PAY to keep their jobs. How is this workers first? Simple, it is not.
It's better to focus on our strengths, and move forward. Than to chase down those who oppose us, moving forward. People can say and do anything. It's our choice where to put our efforts, time, and energy. Our choice.

It's SAD that FREIGHTX truckers cannot stop the name calling long enough to see the reality of the corruption. Truly sad. Where or how does that improve anything? It doesn't! And that's their intention! To keep truckers in their place, below them, that's their view. Change time!
If you destroy the system, then overload the system, you can then scream driver shortage, and do this. Then nobody seems to understand just how devious, it is, as a whole entity.
Saw an older trucker come in, looked like he'd been dealing with situation. Saw him around the way. Offered him a meal. He denied it at first, but I insisted, told him he could have it. He kept his head down, finally he looked up, and said thanks. I told him I didn't need it.

Now I'm hearing more truckers stating, there's not enough traffic enforcement on the roadways. It's a dangerous environment anymore. Without enforcement presence, it's an unsafe environment. On the daily.

I met four drivers of a large company this morning. All of them leased. Not a single one ever gets a rate confirmation sheet. They only get the $ amounts of the load on the statement. Never receive any RC.

Believing the G will step in to help the workers, is a pipe dream. The classification standards already exist. They're not taking action now, but you believe they will with new labor classification laws? Outlaw companies will always exist. What's to stop them? Pro Act? 😆.
