Despite everything Sega threw at him, Kishimoto never released a broken, miserable, or painfully janky Sonic game. I think it says a lot about his quality as a director that even when Sega management was at its worst, he always released something passable.

@RedLReviews I think one thing that gives Miles an advantage is that his design is very unique while still feeling like Spider-Man. Wally borrowed a lot from Barry and it made him easier for casual audiences to forget about when Barry took over again.

@linktwo_alt They’re often too close to the situation to truly feel the imagination and interpretation that held the series together. DSMP was built off of collective headcanon and fan works, it was never just a minecraft server, that was just then lens that we were allowed to see it.

Man, props to the IDW Sonic team for Imposter Syndrome. Especially the artists. the lineart is so expressive and the colors are vibrant but neither end up feeling too exaggerated. I didn't like Surge much when I saw her design but the story and art are definitely convincing me.

i kinda forgot how great Frontiers is recently. idk I've just seen so much criticism on twitter and let it dampen my feelings about the game, but seeing people play it has made me remember just how much I really do love it. For all its faults, it's a stellar Sonic game.

@lincd0 A lot of modern adaptions forget that these costumes are supposed to be a bit weird and goofy in-universe. They don’t need to be corrected or made more realistic. These are criminals who are trying to be big and unique with wacky names and costumes.

Sega didn’t rush Frontiers. Sonic Team was given a reasonable amount of time to complete the game, even a full extra year. Sonic is just a very complicated character to transition into an open world environment, and they had to spend a lot of time figuring out what worked.

@ManiacXVII I like Ian but. X predated Unleashed and the idea of Sonic being incorruptible. If he's incorruptible, Darkspine also makes no sense. Sonic should be a fallible character. Dark Sonic added a layer to him and has more narrative value than people give it credit for.

Good design paired with the worst introduction any rival has gotten. The writers very blatantly fail to understand what makes Shadow, Knuckles, Jet, Blaze, Metal, and Silver work so well. It’s genuinely embarrassing when your hot new rival can’t get a single win against Sonic.

Everyone’s acting like these complaints are dishonest and mean. Guys, these are professional artists that are selling their work to us. They can handle a bit of criticism without needing to be constantly reaffirmed. You guys shit on Archie artists all the time anyways.
Every time I see praise for (mainline) IDW Sonic on here, I wonder if people are reading a completely different comic than I am. The world is boring, the art often makes everyone look like a stiff, bloated model trace, the colors are gray and dreary, the pacing is horrendous.
