This is the current state of gunlift in DayZ. I am begging every community server that doesn't run a mod to disable it, to please, please reconsider. Gunlift does not even begin to function properly and every server would feel 100% better without it.

Inertia in DayZ is fantastic. It's been needed for a long time. The serpentine meta was ridiculous from the start, even back in 2014. I'm glad DayZ is finally taking a step back towards it's mil-sim roots and away from being a run of the mill twitch shooter.
