We will probably never know because of a lack of golf records kept at the OHSAA level… but you’d have to think there is a decent chance that Kary Hollenbaugh’s 60 today is the best round in OHSAA history.
I’ve only heard of a few 62’s in HS competition.

Norkin has a bunch of upside and his T-10 finish at State last fall was key in getting Jerome another State Championship.
An underrated stat from today...
Not a single player in the D1 Boys Central District Tournament at Apple Valley shot over a 90.
I’m having a very hard time finding another occasion where that has happened in any division or district.

After 47 years of coaching high school sports and 30 years with the

team, head coach Monte Rhoden is officially resigning.
Rhoden’s Wildcats were one of the most consistent programs in the area during his time.
I don’t have great answers on how to fix it, maybe nothing truly needs fixed, and maybe this is what makes sports so entertaining…
But it’s just extremely wild that a 297 in high school golf (3 strokes back of the district champ) doesn’t move on to the next round.

Zeitner led the Braves in 2019 and was First-Team All-OCC in the Buckeye.
A lot of talk has been made about the lack of qualifying spots we have, and personally I‘m very high on the idea of more individuals.
In two different Central District tournaments, even-par did not even get you into a playoff to advance to States.
This system has to change.
