A beautiful woman.She was such an amazing singer and person.She could sing anything from light coloratura to big verismo and dramatic arias. Everyone loved her and she was and always will be audience’s favourite. She was an amazing performer and my heart is broken at the the news

Mirella Freni, my idol died today. It’s so sad.She was amazing. When I was 18 I took my first singing lesson and I was introduced to her.When I made my operatic debut 10 years ago as Mimi I watched and listened to her in the role on repeat. What an artist!What a loss.May she RIP

Sad to learn of the passing of this wonderful woman. The fantastic Christa Ludwig with whom I studied. I travelled many times to her house on the outskirts of Vienna to work with her on roles like Butterfly, Marschallin and Marietta. May she rest in peace
