@ogre_codes Vs what I currently have which is rock hard snow since during the day it melts a bit then refreezes at night. Better than the wet mushy snow for driving on though.

@Hotshot_Movie The big problem is you had people screaming about the lack of power when the fire was still burning. These people weren't going to be willing to wait the years it would take to under ground all the wires.

Yeah how do you think Motley Fool made their Estimate on the value of SpaceX? It was done just like I said the last time SpaceX got a round of private investment the amount of that investment. The last round of funding SpaceX did was in late 2023 and at that time based on the funding raised the value of SpaceX was 137 Billion. Most likely if SpaceX went public the stock price would jump and the value of the company would likely be much greater than this estimate of 137 billion. or there is a small chance that a SpaceX IPO would flop and the value would be less than this estimate of 137 billion. Until the stock does an IPO it is all guesswork on the true value of SpaceX and how much Elon is worth based on his SpaceX holdings.

@MattWShow I'm very happy to only have had 6 inches of snow in our last big storm. Now just waiting for the icy areas to go away since the snow starts to melt during the day then freezes hard over night making for an icy mess the next day.

I have a friend who is a lineman. He has spent a lot of years in the power industry and he said a big issue with under grounding lines dealing with the heat build up. As you move power through the lines there is heat involved and they have to accommodate for thisi heat and getting ride of the heat in the under grounding process. It isn't as simple as a guy on a backhoe digging a trench and another guy rolling cable into the trench and then filling in the trench.

People down there were already screaming about the power still being out while the fire was still going. Do you really think they would sit quietly by if it took several months, or more, to have power restored due to underfunding the wires. And would the people there be happy at the big increase to their power bill to pay for the under grounding. The last big increase I saw in my PG&E bill was the increase for the under grounding program PG&E has going currently. That increase alone added over $50 a month to my bill.

I saw where Iowa Tesla guy was really frustrated with bad performance in his HW3 Tesla with FSD 12.6.3. He did a camera recalibration and siad it was a night and day difference with much better FSD performance after the camera recalibration. That might be the bigger issue if people are hving issues on HW3 with FSD.

During your drive look at the energy app. One of the tabs, I forget what it is called, will show you several categories of energy use and show if you are over or under the estimated energy use for the drive to that point. It will also show like you have saved 2.1% due to a tail wind or you are using more energy than expected due to a head wind. Climate is one of the energy category it shows.

@cmnsenselady @stkirsch Two of my current 5 cats are sisters from the same litter. One is very bonded to me the other will come seeking pets when she wants them but hates being picked up and held. The one bonded to me loves to be held.

Tesla is the only company Elon owns that is traded publicly on a stock market. All of his other companies haven’t gone public yet so there isn’t really any good way to evaluate how much those companies are worth this no way to tell how much Elon is worth due to those private companies. Sure when companies like SpaceX gets private investments you can make a very rough estimate on how much the company is valued at due to the amount of the private investment made in the private company but it has been a while since SpaceX has received any new private funding.

@LVCabChronicles @drewkid061 @BernieSanders The Dems cherry pick the date range of those 90 days. Try looking at the 90 day period ding with the highest price Tesla stock hit and go backwards 90 days and use that price point as the start of the 90 day period. All stats like this are based on cherry picked data.

The people saying that Elon has made 150 billion are using the change in Tesla stock from Election Day to the high point of Tesla stock after the election. Yes the price of Tesla stock has fallen from its highest point after the election but that doesn’t stop the politicians who dislike Elon from using the all time Tesla stock price in saying how much Elon has made since the election.

@DLHoffmeister @BernieSanders But I’m sure Bernie would say that USAID was only helping to feed the hungry terrorists.

The privacy issue is an important one. But in CA I do really well with the surcharge since it is less than 10k miles before I come out ahead on the surcharge. Then again in my truck since I drove less than 3k miles I'm way behind via paying the surcharge. It all comes down to how much you drive if the surcharge is a good deal or a bad deal.

It comes down to how much you drive. If you don't drive a lot of miles then the pay by mile will save you money. If you drive a lot of miles then the annual surcharge is probably best for you. It just comes down to how much the per mile fee is vs the annual surcharge and then figuring out how many miles you drive and then compare which situation is best for you.

Amazing how the birds ignore the bird feeders until the first snow hits the ground and now the birds are all over the bird feeders. And they work together since the birds at the feeders are knocking food down to the ground where a bunch of their friends clean up any food spilled from the feeders.
