After this weekend, we guess many people want to know more about the Uyghur people's struggle & what we can do. Perhaps you've mainly seen narratives from pro-CCP denialists & western Cold War hawks. So in no particular order, here are some links off the top of this admin's head:

These sanctions are a welcome step, especially as they punish state officials and not ordinary Chinese citizens.
But we're still waiting for real action on the *Western* corporate giants who profit from global supply chains mired in forced labour and other human rights abuses.

Banning independent trade unions & conscripting minorities for forced labour is a great way to boost profits for corporate bosses - both China's home-grown "socialist" billionaires and the western businesses implicated in those supply chains.

But whatever parliament or the courts decide, we're determined to build grassroots solidarity and action. ✊
The UK govt is refusing to welcome Uyghur refugees who are at risk of deportation to China from third countries.
This is outrageous. It underscores the need to confront the hypocrisy of a Tory govt that says it stands with victims of persecution but fails to give safe haven.
Foreign Office reply on Uyghurs being repatriated to China. Ministers need to be clearer about whether they and the UNHCR recognise that the lives of any Uyghurs sent back to the CCP will be at risk. Sending people back is like signing a death warrant.

Attacking Chinese students' immigration status isn't a legitimate response to the CCP, it's appalling racism.
More evidence we need to build a solidarity movement from below - not rely on cold warriors and nationalist powers more interested in their rivalries than human rights.
Today many Chinese students reported online that their F1 visa got revoked, including undergrads and those who are currently in the US. This is way beyond my prediction that repression only comes to PhD students.

Our govts says Uyghurs, Kazakhs & others escaping China don't deserve safety, unless they get all the right documents, leave & travel legally.
The state cracks down on them for having whatsapp or contacting relatives abroad. You think they can just stroll into a visa office?
Being a refugee means you won’t be given a visa to travel, which means you can’t travel ‘legally’.
But the Government’s ‘New Plan for Immigration’ says refugees who’ve travelled illegally don’t deserve our help

To oppose the new cold war, we need to build solidarity, not with the hawkish racist Chinese state, but the millions of workers, oppressed minorities and colonised peoples who face brutality and hyper-exploitation at the hands of the CCP and the profiteers it enables.
In organising this campaign, we've also encountered racists who use the plight of the Uyghur people, as well as the coronavirus, as vehicles for their prejudice and nationalism against Chinese people. There's no place for this.
I have asked for a meeting with Govt ministers on this issue but so far all I’ve had is a ‘not my department’ response. The far right will use any means to fuel hatred and attacks - including this pandemic. There should be no place for this in our society.
