@SimplyNess79 @JamesAFurey That’s a bummer. We have to protect not only instructional time for students (fighting back screen time & doom scrolling) but also balance the time for teachers to plan/collab and built out their instruction. This takes time and this time has to be prioritized.

@JamesForsyte @JamesAFurey I see it daily. Teachers perform the heavy lift up front to ensure there are options available to Ss. Ts get to know their Ss & use data from assessments to make adjustments. Is it everyone going off in 25 different directions? No. But it is tailoring tools for their Ss to start.

@Super70sSports 1980. Still need this pack to complete my topps run from the year I was born. Packs are like $100 now.

@JamesAFurey I think in this zone, the teacher has prepared their instruction to account for all the variables, can adapt w/ their experience in a pinch, & Ss get grade level instruction. The pre-planning is what I think of w/ differentiation. More focus on different ways Ss can access. 2/2

@tgrierhisd There is such a cycling thru of educators/admin (every few years) & every district is different in terms of support/staffing & everything else that impacts students. The first measure should be student outcomes. That’s the way we want it to be, but the way it is is convoluted.

@ajjuliani Top of my head. Schools should curate, guide, empower, excite, & support the learning process. So many people can learn anything at any time w/ the fire hose of free classes & everything on the Internet, but don’t. Ideally, schools partner w/ students/families & ignite passions.

@MrDanielBuck We should protect instructional time and be very, very purposeful when we use a device.

@PISD_Innovation @Catlin_Tucker @KatieNovakUDL @bekkaallen Scoop it up. Some excellent ideas and practical suggestions. Only about half way through.

@greg_ashman I’m unaware of any district that is doing that. Many have said no phones, but here is your Chromebook.

@rpondiscio You are right. The decision doesn’t make/fix anything. I think it frees up funds to be returned closer to the local level, where decisions can be made with greater oversight. I think that is the idea.

@FraxinusVadum @greg_ashman Do you see time wasting and goofing off ported over to the Chromebook or other student issued device?
