We are entering a phase where the kids don’t even have to “go to [insert AI app]” anymore to get help with or do assignments. With @getlindy anyone can make an AI agent that does work behind the scenes. @AnthropicAI has AI agent that takes over your computer to do work.

If you haven’t done a deep dive yet into Alpha Schools and 2hr learning - it is worth taking some time do look at the model and the success. I recently interviewed @AustinScholar for my upcoming podcast and she will share the student perspective from learning in this environment. I can’t wait for you to hear our conversation!

In 1800, schools trained kids to be mindless factory workers. 225 years later, your child still wastes 6 hours being told to sit still. But one school system just scored in the top 1% studying 2 hours a day. Here's what today's education system doesn't want you to know:

I still cannot believe that I can: - look at a world map and tap anywhere to zoom in at street level - instantly access any song, book, movie, tv show, or podcast ever made - have any conceivable question and get an immediate answer or video explanation - take a photo or video wherever I am and add it to my massive, searchable, always accessible personal archive - video call anyone in my life, at anytime, no matter where they are - watch live sports on a little wireless glass rectangle - type out these thoughts and have them read by thousands of people, all over the world, a few seconds later

@GerardDawson3 A lot of researchers question his research: But, I do agree with you from my own experience as teacher and dad. My issue is bigger. We won’t all of a sudden have higher engagement and academic achievement by banning phones.

@CallahanLuke Yes I thought it was a great article and nuanced, just like the situation. The nuance in these discussion is what I think we are missing:

How are you nerds not talking about how the beatles won best song this year at the grammys using AI? John lennon had an unfinished song that he recorded before he died. They finished the lyrics and used AI to have John sing the final lyrics. Amazing.

Humanoid robots and drones will both be absolutely everywhere 10-20 years from now. Delivery drones flying overhead, robot janitors, baristas, grocery store employees guiding you to the right aisle, and (eventually) housekeepers—will all seem as normal as smartphones do today.

I’m wondering what the next “ChatGPT” moment will be for AI. Remember, they were making plenty of jumps in AI before ChatGPT was released, but it took the public by surprise and made everyone aware of this technology. We haven’t witnessed an Agent moment like this yet. The updates are rolling out fast and furious but nothing has come close to the shockwaves that Nov 2022 provided. What’s next? A robotics moment? An agent that can do something magical? Something else?
